My lads had a few games on a new generation FIFA approved pitch this season. The parks redevelopment cost around £2m for two full size pitches. It provides a year round surface for play which can only lead to better skilled players. It's amazing stuff with the "plastic grass", which is just like the real thing having a millions of little pieces of rubber in place of sand as used in the old Astro Turf for Tennis & Hockey. Players wear proper boots with sprigs just like on a grass field. To gain International Accreditation for FIFA it cost £25K. Another example of the corruption! I have to say the surface is unbelievable to kick a ball around on. Apparently there are less than 100 worldwide at present but they believe thereâll be over a thousand by the end of 2012. Hi Ali - A friend of Billy or Comm is a friend of mine.
He is pretty awful, whilst we are trying to get rid of players, anyone one want Perch? Pretty sure he must have won atleast a few headers in his lifetime*. [*thats my only selling point]
Boo hoo, I laughed at a funny name. Sue me. People have done the same to me and I've survived. Allison, you're a feisty character.
Thank you very much for your welcome Black Cat Kiwi, it is appreciated. The worry for me would be not be for upcoming youngsters who could start playing on the artificial from young, but the early to mid 20 year olds now who, I think, could be at an increased risk of injury. Even with sprigs, the resistance of the rubber is not quite consistent with grass but I'm sure the tech will be sorted. 25K for Accreditation. Are they taking the piss? It would, however, enable the smaller Clubs to compete financially as the pitch could be used in all weathers etc.
It's Russian. English people who call their kids by foreign names is something I find amusing. If that offends you, so be it.
You have to be careful of Kiwi Ali, he's a gaffer you know. LOL. He's also a bloody good lad that I think the world of.
Cheers Leeds-18 for the compliment, some of your fans in the 70's and 80's found that too!! Please let's not slag off people's kids or their names, not necessary. Tight Championship, best for years. I may come onto your Board and discuss football issues, if that's not a problem?
Didn't slag off anyone, though I think Billy Hawaiian Pizza Testes or whatever he bizarrely calls himself is being a bit pious if I'm being honest. All I did was put a smiley when I saw he'd called his daughter a name I found amusing. And of course you can come on the Leeds board, there's no need to ask! Any football fan is welcome. Oh simmer down, you irate man.
This is why it cost so much because they have it sorted. To make not accredit! But hey I'm only reporting what I was told by a local who was there when the FIFA guy came out to do the inspection in NZ & another in Australia, Adelaide I think. The thing I've noticed but then I'm a piss poor player is that when you do an aerial pass say over 20m with back spin as it hits the turf it seems to hold up a little rather than as it can sometimes run on as on grass if you get my drift. Billy - Empty you mail box. It's full & I can't PM you. Sorry just got that Takes a while to travel around the world
Look forward to speaking with you in our little internet slice of Leeds. Will PM Chunky, though his odd attacks on me for being Yorkshire suggest he doesn't really want to get on.
