According to some who played with Jobe over the years, he’s a centre forward. Apparently always has been! I don’t mind him saying that, but every time I’ve seen him play up front, he’s spent about 3 minutes there. If he’s up front, leave him up front ffs

Thanks once more RTB <applause> This is a game we have to win if only to take the pressure off. The attacking line ups have been a joke recently, Maybe too big a game this to try something different, so your team will do me fine but I look forward to seeing some of the bench being involved this time, we have some quality and I am not specifically referring to Jobe , but some who have so far been given little to no chance , when their game skills might have been useful .. OaU.

Agreed. It sounded like a salty response to the question to be honest.

FWIW I think Jobe could be an effective no.9 but you are right, he plays way too deep during the game and the wingers/midfielders having nothing to hit.

Maybe it's time for a change. I'd go:

    Patterson
    Ballrd Seelt O'Nien
    Hume Neil Bellingham Alese
    Pritchard Rusyn Clarke
Mix it up and catch Hull off guard. Clarke and Pritch can roam from positions and by playing 3 CBs we don't need anyone screening, leaving Neil and Jobe to push higher up

I wouldn’t be starting Jobe at all.. Just think he’s looked drained and we’re going to burn him out. We have cover in there so give the lad a rest! If you’re a manager who is good with players, you know how to do this. And you also know how to stop the player listening to the press afterwards who say “Bellingham axed by Sunderland “ then make up some ****e in the article about him wanting to move or something!

I wouldnt be playing 5 defenders at home. I would only do this against the real quality attacking teams

I think it should be 4231 but with rusyn up top to stretch the game for us

Agreed, I'd drop Bellingham as he is so one paced at the moment, clearly needs a rest. Hopefully Beale delivers and makes more use of his subs.

    Hhhaaawwwwaaaaayyyyyyy the lads

Would not be surprised at all to see the same starting XI that lost to Ipswich.

Personally would have Rusyn in for Jobe. But I can't see Jobe not starting.

Jobe has looked lost for some time now, "one for the future" as Durban would say, we have asked far too much of him of late, clearly talented , but slow to move and think, with the ball at his feet , probably as you say due to fatigue. We have plenty of options in both positions he occupies if only the coaches three could see it.

Well I think the team selection is vital for what good will Beale has left also his game management will be in the spot light as I think his use of the bench has been to little to late if we can get after them early doors and get that vital goal then we should go on to win but if we start slow and concede I think Mr Beale is in for a hard night, I’m going 2-0 to the lads Rusyn to get one and I’d like to see Ba notch if nowt else to shut the clown up that sits behind me. Oh great thread as always RTB much appreciated COME ON

Wouldnt surprise me if its the same team as Ipswich

Jobe is a good option upfront but not when hes looking leggy n dropping so deep that we dont have an option. Rusyn in for jobe for me, gives them a threat in behind n helps stretch the game

    Thankyou RTB.
I’ll be looking at this game to see wether , if, we need an equaliser or winner with 10 to go and it’s the usual put on a striker( who’s not trusted to get a goal in 90 but expected to do it in 10) , then - will he please tell the other players that they have to play in a “ with striker” way rather than stay the same , thus ignoring the striker and trying to do with 10 men what they couldn’t do with 11. ( or with 9 if 2 strikers brought on)
And if we need a goal with 60 secs left , allow them not to be 5 yard passing along our own area

I’m out in Lithuania again and I think we’ve only won one game while I’ve been out here  hope that changes quickly.

hopefully we have atleast one striker playing if we don’t I really don’t see the point of changing manager as absolutely nothing has changed since Mowbray got the bullet imo.

It feels as if there is an element of stage management going on with Jobe. As if he parents have his career mapped out and we were the next obvious stepping stone - bigger club, same division, would play more games etc etc - but then he's been given the no.7 shirt, puts his first name instead of his surname on his shirt, brother publicly attending games etc etc

Dunno. Maybe I'm just being cynical

It'll all come to nothing if they insist on burning him out here. Nobody looking at his recent performances would be interested in buying him.

Think we need a performance and a result. Coventry and Newcastle whoopings at home hasn't sat well.

Would like some changes again, think other players deserve an opportunity. Rusyn and Seelt being the main 2 for me. Wouldn't even be against Matate getting a run out in place of Ekwah was has been blow the level got a while.

Haway MB, let’s see some changes to personnel and formation.

Let’s get at least 1 recognised striker on the pitch, 2 preferred!!

Don’t think we will, but we’ll still win 2-0, tho another poor performance won’t get the monkey off Beale’s back.
