What if one crossed the line then got scooped out by the keeper, but the ref gave the goal? Would that be deemed to be in the back of the net? Just trying to get clarity. Asking for a friend.
Giles came on as a half time sub for Doughty in Luton's cup win at Bolton. Still in Luton's plans then. That doesn't mean he won't come to us but I would have preferred him to be not in their 20 or an unused sub. With Cole scoring again for Barnsley that also makes any move to us a little harder. Could be a long 14 days.....
Also for clarity, what is the back of the net? Surely when a goal is scored and the ball reaches the net, it's the front of the net that it makes contact with. The back of the net is what spectators behind the goal hit when they try to throw the ball back from an attempt by a player that missed the goal, isn't it? The other complication is to whether or not the nets are hung on to the goal frame the same way around every game. What is the back of the net one week might have been the front in the previous match. All of which leads to the intriguing idea that occasionally players are not trying to score but are trying to return the ball to the spectators that failed to hit the back of the net when they threw the ball. In light of this, when a player puts the ball into the goal (or scoring as some would have it) then they should be deemed to have failed. Simple.

A bit of a chequered career. Not really hit it off anywhere apart from Rangers. He has ability but seems to have difficulty showing it regularly. Looks a risk to me.
Would rather have Giles back given the choice, at least he's a known quantity and did a decent job for us previously. The silence from the club is a little worrying but we just have to hope things have been going on behind closed doors and completely under the radar.
