Ah mate Boca v River would be the absolute ultimate. I’d want it to be at Boca of course. I’d love one of the big Greek team, AEK fans are wild.
Yeah, it's got to be at La Bombonera! Olympiakos were pretty mad but we were sat in the posh seats. I like German fans, been to Hertha and Mainz. Edit: there's a company that do Argentine football tours. Three games in a week, I think. With a guaranteed Boca or River game.
Any of the 5 Grandes would be good. A cousin of one of the lads I used to go to foreign games with went to Argentina for a couple of months and said it was brilliant, I think he said he went to a few a games but he definitely went to a game at River.
Definitely bucket list stuff. We are planning on heading to the World Cup in the US (ties in with a pals 40th and we will take the lasses they can do their thing), be a great experience. Be great to get England tickets but if can’t be happy with owt really, love to get to a game in Atlanta that stadium is another level.
That'll be a brilliant trip! That stadium in Atlanta looks unbelievable. They've got some amazing stadiums over there. The one on Minnesota looks brilliant and the Allegiant in Vegas is meant to be amazing. And they don't even make the list for the World Cup!
Yeah the vegas stadium they can’t get the pitch big enough for FIFA, mad. Gonna try get to a Raiders game at some point to see it. Big fan of America, love the NBA always try get to a sporting event when I’m over there. Tried baseball once mind went Dodgers and it was gash. Would maybe give one more go for Yankees or Red Sox
My Mrs has promised we can go to a Raiders game next time we go to Vegas (****ing LOVE Vegas). If its during the season of course. I've done the Golden Knights a couple of times as I'm a big ice hockey fan. Did baseball in NY a couple of years ago. Went to the Mets. It was alright but a bit confusing. The one thing I didn't realise was that they don't fill the stadiums for the regular season games.
Aye Dodgers was deserted, they also don’t go for the full game which is bizarre. NBA is another level it’s just a whole show. Never got Knicks tickets but went to Brooklyn Nets, arena is new that was amazing, then been Philly, Boston, Clippers (couldn’t get Lakers tickets for less than £500) and Bulls multiple times (child of Jordan). Even if you don’t like the game you’ll love the whole experience. No team in Vegas but big talk it’s coming (also love Vegas, usually tied in with LA which is my heaven on earth)
Yeah, we sat through the whole Mets game and kept wondering why people in the seats around kept appearing or disappearing. That probably explains it. Quite fancy an NBA game. I occasionally go and watch the London Lions, which is obviously nowhere near the same level but it's good entertainment. My wife's been going to Vegas for years so she's friendly with a few people who work there and we meet up with. Last time everyone was saying that the plan is now to make Vegas the sports capital so they want an NBA franchise and an MLB franchise on top of the NFL and NHL. The Oakland Athletics were supposed to be moving there and the Baseball stadium was going to be right on the strip but last I heard that had been knocked back. Everyone seems to love the Knights and the Raiders are pretty popular but everyone seemed a bit pissed off with the F1 because the resurfacing was playing havoc with the traffic.
Yeah I’ve read about that. Definitely demand. In the same way LA can support so many sports would work for Vegas because such a diverse society there. You get the Mexicans and South Americans who are ‘soccer’ daft then you have the major NFL and NBA teams. Vegas be similar to that. LA supports 2 football clubs, the Rams (now there is a stadium, wow) & Chargers, Lakers & Clippers, and I. Too if that UCLA sports programme. These all attract people to live there and also to attend schools etc so Vegas are being smart. The sports team crowds be swelled by visitors as well it makes all the sense in the world they do it.
It definitely seems to make sense there. First time I went to the Knights it was popular and there was a proper buzz around the place. I wore a Knights tshirt on the day of the game (birthday present from the wife along with the tickets) and everyone walking past was going "Go Knights". Second time it had taken off massively. Fan Park outside the arena was packed, even with people just watching the game on the screens and in the bars (Beerhaus is worth a visit on days they're playing). Proper massive buzz around the whole place when they're playing. If they can recreate that for other sports it will be amazing.
Getting such a storied and known franchise as the Raiders is a good way to start (not that I agree one bit with teams being moved around of course). NBA will be massive for them if/when they get one.
Get this thread back on track.......the love-in between @Nads and @The Norton Cat has got between the sheets... Anyone think we could give Jose a last challenge?
Oh aye mate, those before my time but of course names I know and there’s many more. They have had some crazy talent over years they a bit short currently which is sad to see. Seems to be a cycle of ‘wonder kid winger’ who just had attitude issues and never fulfils potential for them last few years.
