He's been a busted flush for years. The game evolved and he was left behind, simple as that. He did well with them in Europe and if he had any humility, which he doesn't, he would take that as a clear sign that tournament football is the likeliest place for his career to continue if he wants to be successful. He'd probably do well on the international stage.
Also @humanbeingincroydon I object to you filing Mourinho under the 'Ex-spur' category. It's a slippery slope from here to talking about Sol Campbell in the same terms.
The rest of the day will be spent reading r/soccer comments while trying to perfect my Berlin Mule recipe
International football has also moved on from Portu-ball, so I cannot see which thereabouts nations he would actually take to a trophy.
He'll probably either come back to the Premier League or go to the Saudi League now. He needs tons of money and didn't get that at Roma, but still did alright and won a trophy. They sold about £50m of players and spent £2m in return, albeit with some expensive loans. A couple of decent freebies, too. Mourinho's problem is that his style of football is incredibly dull and negative now. That leaves you with a very short rope when things go wrong. A few bad results and the fans will be happy to see the back of you. Conte's rumoured to be one of his possible replacements, though...
Mourinho's been replaced already. Daniele De Rossi has taken the job until the end of the season. Club legend. Only had one managerial stint, which was with SPAL in Serie B. Flopped badly.
IIRC Roma have one of the highest wage bills in Serie A - and by complete coincidence that is not something could have been said three or four years ago I'm sure it's just a coincidence...
I hope they do. Start spreading rumours that Howe is gay and he'll be thrown off a building in no time. They might even get Jordan Henderson to push him.
Dim Sherwood is doubling down on his singling out of Pedro Porro, somehow unaware that when the immediate response to your initial comment is widespread derision, perhaps your take is not very good Just a reminder, this is the same Dim Sherwood who - Said that signing Bentancur was a mistake - Said that Jan Vertonghen was like watching Bambi on Ice - Said that Mickey Van was "wooden" and somehow believed he was slow - Played Nacer Chadli as a CM in a 442 - Said that he had never read a book in his life as if it was some kind of flex
Nigeria beat the hosts Ivory Coast 1-0 at the AFCON via their only shot on target. It came from a penalty taken by former Spurs youth player, William Troost-Ekong. https://www.skysports.com/watch/vid...1198/ivory-coast-0-1-nigeria-afcon-highlights Why is a centre-half that rarely scores taking it over Victor Osimhen? No idea. Worked, though.
