And thanks to scully for posting the original link... I know that a lot of people have no time for Troy and think that he'll fail as a Head Coach - but, for me, this article suggests that he'll do a decent job in the role. Whether or not he has the time to save FGR from relegation is open to conjecture but I'm sure he'll get the chance to succeed elsewhere.
Luton might well be staying up at this rate ! https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/jan/15/premier-league-charge-nottingham-forest-everton
I wonder how many clubs will want his more negative pragmatic style of football now ? Even if it’s been so successful.
Them v Palace or Everton next round. Magic of the cup and all that. Newport getting another plum tie it seems. ITV probably hoping Wolves come through now.
Really was a wasted trip to Saudi Arabia for Henderson Didn’t even get paid . https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/01/17/jordan-henderson-salary-saudi-al-ettifaq-uk-tax/
Apropos of nothing at all, I watched the Clyde v Aberdeen Scottish cup match last night. Clyde had a number 7 called Scullion playing - have to say that he was nothing like our number 7 of yesteryear though.
There are a couple of reasons - their previous stadium is owned by North Lanarkshire Council who threatened them over the signing of David Goodwillie - told them if he entered the stadium their lease wouldn't be extended. As it would have run out at the end of last season, Clyde basically told them to stuff it and arranged to groundshare with Hamilton this season - whilst they look for an alternative in Glasgow. It's going to be tough for them though - already looks like they'll be relegated to the Lowland League this season.
Not good then . No home comforts and revenue . Hearts with a late goal to win at Spartans. Escaped some embarrassment there !
