    Bloody hell <yikes>

JPR was a real childhood hero of mine. Flamboyant, super quick and strong. A rugby great for Wales and the Baa Baas! And a hospital Dr if I remember correctly <rose>

Before anyone asks, no, Djed Spence didn't think he was on a camgirl site and down trou which is why he's banished to the U21s

This could have appeared on a number of threads, but I picked a middle ground. Hate watching a Spanners win, but this video is glorious and does feature two goals by Greavsie! :emoticon-0148-yes:

Embarrassing pitch, even for the time. The bogroll being chucked on probably helped the surface.

There was (is?) a restaurant in Chicago called Ed Debevic's where the waiting staff were/are notably rude (it's is/was part of the "charm" of the place, and completely intentional). But back in the late 80s they were very happy to learn a new word from me that they could insult the customers with. That word was "plonker".

Have you ever been to the Wan Kai Chinese restaurant, on about 5 floors in Wardour Street? Their customer service was similarly and deliberately obnoxious! Greeted by 'Upstair! Upstair! as you tried to find a seat on each level and then, if you took more than 2 minutes to choose your food, you'd get 'You order! You no order, you **** off'! The reaction of American tourists was worth an entry fee! <laugh>

    The Wong Kei.
The food (never ate there) was cheap in the 1980s
(I assume was lower quality) so that + the abuse (though
not if you spoke Guandongwah - as I did) was the primary
    selling point.

"on about 5 floors in Wardour Street? ..."

Due to the building types in that part of Soho,
a lot of the restaurants in Chinatown are/were
like that (the Chuen Cheng Ku, Joy King Lau etc) .
Joy King Lau was good food, but the floors were
    particularly cramped.

The Chinatown convention used to be when busy :

Chinese on ground floor +/- 1, gwei loh
pushed as high up the building as possible.
