Can't lie I found it mad we were able to control most of the game with Skipp and Hojbjerg as two of our three CMs away at OT. Bentancur is a beaut of a baller but thought he'd be outnumbered in creativity by Eriksen and Fernandes.

I think you lot have got some areas of weakness just like us and everyone else but ten Hag really don't seem to be maximising any strengths, there's no way some of your lot are as bad as they're playing. No idea what your style of play is either, reminiscent of us under Conte and just like Conte the bloke's got zero charisma, personality of a soggy cardboard box.

That second half display from us in particular was appalling. The way we were chasing you lot around was embarrassing to watch. Our high press just disintegrated. We relied on regaining possession deep in our own half while letting you attack. Now there's nothing wrong with that if you can actually play the ball out. But instead we spent most of the time just players randomly hitting it anywhere because tbf to your players you gave us no time on the ball.

Neville talks a lot of ****e about United these days but one thing he said is spot on. There is no coordinated pattern of play. Our players literally work out what to do next when they receive the ball. They don't know their next pass, with the exception of possibly Bruno and Eriksen, but even they need time and space to be able to do that.

The few times we got behind your high line in the second half we did little to nothing with the ball. Did we even have a shot on goal?

You can't just watch your game against Chelsea and think, oh yeh our whole game plan will be to hit it over the top, ffs <doh>

Hitting the ball to Kane was basically our tactic under Conte so I definitely feel your frustration on that. We're far from perfect at the moment but it's just nice seeing us play some actual football again.

Weirdly though I don't actually think either keeper was too troubled despite the contrasting styles in play, both picked it out the net twice and there wasn't anything either could do on them, outside of those moments both sides seemed to struggle in that final third. Probably not surprising for us though, Werner's Werner and Johnson so far has been our most disappointing signing of the summer, thought he'd be electric under Ange but today ain't the first time he's dropped a 3/10 performance.

Yeh I'd agree with that but we're at home ffs. We should be dominating and no disrespect but it's usually an open game against you lot and we create lots of chances.

Just based on today's impression, Johnson's passing in the final third and physical strength against the likes of AWB let him down. I watched him in a previous game and he seemed decent in that but can't remember who you were playing.

One of yours worth mentioning - Udogie, was excellent tbf

    Because he was ****, again.

Nice finish, yes, but as usual just ran into blind alleys and made no passes or assists, as usual.

I'm not a big fan of stats, I prefer to base things on what I see but, as you clearly don't see the same as me then perhaps look at his stats this season. Lamentable, on all fronts. I don't know what he's supposed to be anymore.

    Garnacho was no better.

The most damning thing today was when Eriksen ran out of steam and we needed to get back into the game in the midfield, he chose McTominay. When Casemiro was on the bench.

Casemiro may well have been out for a number of weeks but if he wasn't fit enough to play half an hour he shouldn't be there. No point him just sitting there, no way is McTominay ever getting control of a midfield, Casemiro might have added so class and experience.

McTominay just miscued his shots when he should pass and then missed a sitter header at the death, that was his contribution.

Agree completely on Onana. His idea of making a save appears to be waving his arms around and hoping one makes contact with the ball somehow. Good job we got rid of De Gea.

Yeah us two usually serve up a really good game. Today didn't really disappoint in terms of score line though, neutrals will be happy watching a 2-2.

I don't know what it is with him at the moment, he's got the raw pace to roast 90% of FBs yet ****s the bed at trying to do so, rarely tries taking on players in one-on-ones and his crossing has been well below par. There's a player in there but once Son, Maddison and Kulu are back, he's on the bench without a doubt, so needs to buck his ideas up if he wants a more prominent role going forward.

Ahh mate I've said on our board already that we need to enjoy Udogie for as long as we can, genuinely think he'll be Madrid or City bound within a year or two, kid's unreal.

Yeh his crossing is what I was thinking. There were times when we were let off because of his poor balls in.

Porro's been a decent buy as well. Interested to see how the new Romanian guy shapes up. Looking like a very decent back 4.

Btw I can't believe Bayern bought Dier lol, like WTF, did Kane punk them or what? <laugh>

What a complete tosser Rashford is. After all the support from the manager in playing him, the support from the fans...then to score after eight years and be as glum as a fart is ridiculous - things are at play here that we are not aware of, something isn't right.

Porro is literally the Spanish Trent, great going forward but can't defend to save his life <laugh>. I'll take it though after 3-4 years of watching Aurier, Doherty and Emerson trying to kick a football in that position.

Yeah back four is looking really decent, Romero and van de Ven naturally a bit rusty today, both their first games back so was a risky call by Ange. Hopefully Dragusin can come in when needed and keep pressure on those two. Vicario been a revelation in goal as well, never heard of the guy til we signed him and he's saved us so many points already. Paratici's scouting has been unreal for us, despite being banned too it's well known he's still advising the club and long may it continue.

I'm wondering if it was a stipulation in Kane's deal - sign a mate to keep him company. Actually happy for Dier though, great guy just completely went to pot as a player. Huge upgrade for him though, found himself behind Emerson and Davies at CB here, gone to Bayern as fourth choice and likely to pick up a medal or two.

I just don't understand why he gets singled out at the first opportunity. What I noticed about Rashford today as I did in the last match when we spoke about him, is he had a good first half then dropped off in the second half.

The rest I completely agree with. Especially about Casemiro. Why have him on the bench if you're not going to play him. Utterly pointless.

I just don't buy the poor old misunderstood Marcus thing anymore.

He's a senior player, gets paid a **** ton of money a week, and doesn't put in a full shift. And plays largely for himself.

My sympathy and understanding for him has completely gone.

It's not just him, but he's very much a focal point for what's wrong with this team.

Seriously wtf, Chief?! From that game you really think Rashford is the one to go after? This again is an example of how we would blame everything under the sun and ignore the obvious.

That game was a perfect demonstration of the issue with the team and it isn’t about any of the players.

Correct, it's about all the players.

I watch a **** lot of football (basically anything i can get on Sky or normal TV) and the thing that stands out in every game regardless of how good or **** the teams playing are is the effort that the players put in and their desire to win. When i watch us i see players making passes then at best jogging forward whilst watching what happens next, it's like they all think they have done their bit in the move and have no need to get involved again.
Lazy bastards with no desire to push the oppo and beat them unless the fast lads can run at a defence and get a shot off.

Did you miss, or just not bother to read this bit?

A no point have I ever once said 'it's Marcus Rashford's fault'.

I disagree here. I think the vast majority are running around. In fact they were running around like headless chickens for most of that second half. The fact there was no coordination in our attack once we actually regained possession except to lump it over the top to Garnacho and Rashford meant we held very little possession. They can run their hearts out but if the quality of the football is poor then you can't ignore that as a significant problem.

Ten Hag's contract runs until 2025.

He has under 18 months to turn it round. We should not be extending the contract unless he does.

I think this, which is the same as I have said for all previous managers.

We should he sounding out Ten Hag's replacement now. Taking actual proactive steps to get someone else in, but for the end of the season. Start considering candidates.

Ten Hag stays the rest of the season and if it shows signs that his 'project' is working (he had a good first season, let's be honest) then he stays and his replacement isn't needed.

We've got to be more hard nosed, and I have to assume Ratcliffe and his cohorts will be.

Getting rid now is just not the way forward.

Chief, you went on a rant about Rashford in your post. Have you read your post again? It’s ridiculous to post that after his performance yesterday. Perhaps he should have scored a hat trick.

Either way, going off about one player or another and talking about how you’ve lost respect for them is pointless at this juncture. They are playing under an ineffective system that is now regressive for all involved.

Ok, so only you is allowed an opinion or to have an allowed topic of conversation?

You can pap on about this failing system ad infinitum, I don’t give a ****.

In the meantime, this was a match day thread and I'll correctly point out when our supposed golden boy is having yet another ****e game.

You want to sack the manager, great. I don't.

    That ok with you pal?
