You're proving my point. In the two seasons where we struggled in the PL he managed 6 goals in 37 appearances. If he led us to promotion with 16 goals then he also led us to relegation with 6 in two seasons. You can't have it both ways.
True but then Bamford was out injured some of the time. Anyway the idea was to get some comparisions and Bardoor Biilie Paynter for example averaged 0.11 goals per game, however only played 28 games so didn't include him.
Given we conceded so many it's doubful anyone could have scored enough to keep us up though. Unless we'd kept Raphinha and his goals as well as maybe that would have made a difference
Does it matter about Bamford being injured since this is goals per game (I assumed games played). I’m also pretty sure everyone of the players named picked up injuries at some point and if they didn’t so played a lot more games than Bamford surely that makes his record worse?
The point was that Rodrigo played centre forward quite often due to Bamford's absences and wasn't related to Bamford's own stats
I never said he was **** but he has limitations and whilst you think me and others are knocking him I just think jammy in particular is bigging him up too much. There’s little doubt that his missed penalties and some real sitters cost points that contributed to our relegation.
Wasn't aimed at you in particular but your post contained 2 players. Bamford and Meslier. Then there's all the other players people mention that have been/still are ****. Gruev Firpo Rutter James That's just from yesterday's starting 11.
Llorente was slaughtered on here as well but it seems he's good enough to play for top European teams just not us. Oh and don't forget the criticism Raphinha used to get as well. Unbelievable.
I get the doubts Emu, but surely that’s why we also have Piroe as either a very capable back up or alternative first choice. There’s no question, in my mind, he’s worth his place when confidence is high (even though he might not be free scoring). But Piroe would be great to bring on 2nd half if Paddy’s having an off day. Alternatively Piroe might be a better starter against some opponents. Just think having him available (confident and fit) gives us options we lacked upto the the Birmingham game.
Well I for one stated that Bamford should of been taken off after 60 minutes and given Piroe 30 minutes up front, but Farke might just be has pig headed as Bielsa was, let’s wait and see.
You obviously don't remember Paddy being taken off for Nketiah when we were 3-0 up against Cardiff at home with about half an hour left. The lack of a forward press from Bamford allowed Cardiff the time to pump decent balls forward and the 3-3 draw is history as they say. The game was far from won on Saturday so as we were pressing their back four and keeper really well the correct decision was made.
Bamford didn't go off in that game until the 77th minute and Cardiff had already scored to make it 3-1 in the 60th minute. I understand the point you are trying to make Jamster, but with pedants like me around, make sure your facts are correct before using them as an argument https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/25947/updates-leeds-united-v-cardiff-city Whites held as Cardiff fight back.
