All season long loans can be cancelled in the January window, as long as either both clubs agree, or the terms of the loan allowed for it. How do you think we managed to get Carvalho?
We didn't know that until we'd seen him play for us, I'm sure we signed all three in the hope that they'd all be great for us. Maybe we should bring in Harry Hindsight to do our scouting?
People saying that if we wanted him why we didn't just pay up need to remember we're trying to be smart with our spend. I imagine if he had stayed with us and maintain his form/improved we would have gone for him in summer. 2.5 million on a #10 this window just doesn't make sense unfortuantely.
Kent would have been a decent signing for me but you never know.Yeah he’s not Fab but im fairly sure he has a better idea than you and I
Difficult to say if this is good or bad until we see what else happens in the window. I liked Twine thought he put in a good shift but not a winger, as you could say about most of the players we put out on the wing. Very disjointed squad and, at the moment, we don't seem to be improving things. Wonder what we are paying out in loan fees?
IMO Twine has been a slow burner, but got better and better and overall has been good for us. Against Norwich he was my MOTM, so will be a miss. However, his best position is a 10, and with Carvalho coming in he probably is not going to get game time there and once Jaden is back, he also will be not get a LW position. Hopefully this opens up a loan spot, and if we can get a good right-winger in, then not a great loss.
I see we're back in for the winger at Palace that we missed out on last summer. Will be another loan I'm guessing.
International loans are completely different and basically considered the same as permanent transfers. FA does not allow recalls between member clubs.
Probably mutually terminated, which it doesn’t sound like is the case here. When the FA shut down the emergency loan system a few years they also removed the right to recall players at the same time, so unless something has changed and gone under the radar since, we must have agreed to terminate Twine’s loan. Unless he’s going directly on a permanent, which is the only time a player can be recalled between two domestic clubs. It was also the major obstacle in sending Harvey Vale back last season, who didn’t really return from what I remember, just went back to training with their development squad but couldn’t play.
Hopefully all becomes a bit clearer shortly but things are very quiet. It's looking like we need 2 wingers, a striker and a left back although LR included Vinagre in a list of our players the other day which seemed to suggest his departure is not so straight forward. Perhaps if we brought in a winger that can play centrally (Allahyar???) also to provide cover whilst Delap is out as Connolly can't be relied on to stay injury free and Sharp doesn't have the legs. I would also say we need another CM, Slater and Doch cant play the role that Seri and Morton do and Tufan is clearly seen as an attacking player. Going forward I see Coyle as a backup RB and Christie hasn't done enough this season to earn a new contract at his age for me so a new 1st choice RB in the summer. I don't think we should extend Traore's contract either.
We have agreed to mutually terminate it, we are hardly going to come out in public and say "we've not been hugely impressed by him so we've agreed to let him go back" after all the song and dance we made about getting him. He hasn't hit the levels we as a club expected him to hit, he hasn't provided the dead ball quality we expected him to provide ( dropped from taking corners full stop for example ) and the club is happy to terminate the deal which frees up some money to go after someone else. Plus we aren't going to make it to difficult seen as we want other players from them
Shambles. So disjointed. Re. Twine specifically, the club spent all that time, effort and money chasing a player we didn't even really need. Then ended up losing him to a rival. Lot to do in next couple of weeks.
...but are they any good at dominating games, forget everything else. This is the place to be to further your football education.
Bristol stepping up has likely enabled us 'not to say' he hasn't worked out and the agreement may well allow the relationship with Burnley to stay intact.
