It looks like it's about to, so it clearly can.

He was also trying to get the crowd going on Friday night certainly didn’t look like a player on the verge of leaving

Another aspect for Twine is that he is from Wiltshire and might favour a move to a club closer to home. For some reason I can't fathom not everyone is desperate to live in Hull and its environs.

You'd hope/expect we've agreed to Twine going back otherwise it's a bit of a ****'s trick by Burnley. Hopefully it paves the way for Benson coming our way as we desperately need wingers, not #10s that can play on the wing.

Thought he was really sharp and working well with Fabio in both halves he maybe nodded a good outlet to work with , that’s all

I think that was 15-20 minutes before the stropping wasn't it? Could have been stropping at the morgue that is the South West corner I guess...

On loan Burnley playmaker Scott Twine has seemingly played his last game for Hull City and is edging closer to joining the Tigers' Championship rivals Bristol City, Hull Live understands.

It's expected that Twine's final outing as a City player came in Friday night's 2-1 home defeat to Norwich City in front of a sell-out MKM Stadium crowd, with the 24-year-old playing 63 minutes before being replaced by winger Jason Lokilo.

The summer signing had been a long-term target for Tigers owner Acun Ilicali and joined the Tigers in the summer on a season-long loan deal from the Premier League Clarets and will now move to the Robins midway through the January transfer window.

Bristol City tested the water with an enquiry earlier this month but baulked at Burnley's reported £5m asking price. But discussions have remained ongoing since and the two clubs have now agreed a permanent deal believed to be worth in the region of £2.5m.

Twine leaving is another pain we could do without, and I think it's plausible that we'd have the option to keep him on the same terms Bristol City appear to be getting him, if we wanted to. But if that means paying a decent fee, at a time when we need other sorts of players more urgently, then I suppose we have to make a tough call and prioritise the bigger picture. Even then, my concern would be that we lose him imminently and for the next few games have an even more serious shortage of attacking players in the immediate term.

I'm still hoping that this will lead to Burnley letting us have one of their wingers, which will make it decent business for us as well.

I don’t think they can just recall him without mutual agreement from us unless it’s a for a permanent transfer.

If this happens it is actually better for us in that we have good options at 10 with Fabio and Tufan but nothing wide without Jaden.

I think the club will be agreeing to it. We need wingers and now we have Carvalho we don't desperately need Twine. Makes some sort of sense, I think

Bit gutted about Twine's impending departure tbh, think he's a useful player who looks to be enjoying it here, often played out of position which isn't his fault but doesn't lack for effort and technical ability. Ultimately, if Bristol City are prepared to cough up up to 5m, we can't compete with that atm with FFP limitations, and possibly will make room for us to bring in a genuine wide player instead. Wouldn't wish him anything but the best if he leaves.

Whether they are paying for him now or in the summer, he's going to Bristol City permanently anyway.

Maybe we are agreeing to it with a caveat that only if they loan us one of the wingers.

It’s an important difference, the FA doesn’t allow recalls except for a permanent transfer. So if he’s going on loan initially, we have mutually terminated the loan, and you would expect we are doing that for a reason, such as getting another player from them. Otherwise why would we agree to it just to strengthen a rival?
