Incidentally, they've started another poll on the same topic. Only 150 votes so far but only 30% want him to stay - the rest want him gone. I can't believe the desperation to shoot ourselves in the foot.
Go and post a poll asking who they want to replace him ... ... the idiots wouldn't have a fkn clue. Ashley would probably come top
I really dont get wanting him to go. We are going in the right direction as a club n surely thats the most important thing Today has been a nightmare but sounds like KLD is raging so im sure he will get to the bottom of how it happened
I couldn't agree less, he's brought in more good players than we've had for years. The entire squad under Short was worth less than wee'd paid player by player ... ... this is probably worth more player by player. Ballard is probably worth more than we've paid for the entire squad.
For what it’s worth from me, I also disagree that speakman has to go. 2024 is pivotal for him now, though. January and summer windows may define him.
I agree with you mate. He's brought in players like Jobe, which is incredible for Sunderland ... ... but he needs to bring in another Stewart and Evans to balance things out.
Player recruitment good overall. Less so the last 12 months. He needs separated from the managerial appointments though. This ridiculous absolute of Dodds/Proctor being there every time the manager changes is a bit silly I think. They've done nothing of note in the game a bit like Dodds.
Well they are preventing 85% or so possible new managers/HCs taking the job because they can't bring own people in. Leaving us with the dross to choose from who will work under any conditions - hey Presto we have a sub standard appointment in Beale.
I do worry about this element - and this is what I was getting at with the ‘continuity’ stuff. If Beale doesn’t work, then do we just get rid of him and bring another man in to replace him whilst keeping the rest of the coaching staff the same? Do we elevate Dodds? And keep everything else the same? I fear that we needed fresh ideas after Mowbray, and we simply haven’t got any.
Aye but before that we had new manager new style demands new players demands new money and it got us in deep ****. There probably has to be a balance.
My thoughts exactly. Get a proper manager with his own team FFS it's that simple. Are Liverpool telling Klopp he has to work with 2 youth coaches or else he can't take the job? Of course not. It's crazy.
You do understand that this approach isn't particularly unusual beyond these shores? On this one occasion, the club have insisted that their man (Dodds) is given a key role. Probably as a reward for his work holding the fort. Mowbray had Venus, Johnson had his man.
Get your point but not sure where you are getting those % from I posted yesterday saying i wasnt happy that beale didnt bring in a coach with him. I get continuity in terms of style of play etc but i think when we appt a head coach they should be able to bring in their own coach
