Not sure why the pessimism, that United midfield is terrible. A kid in Mainoo and no legs in eriksen far inferior against skipp and hjolberg. A lot of work to do for Bruno.

According to Alisdair gold, kulu has had the worst of an illness that’s “worked its way around the squad”.

FFS.. not only is Kulu out, but are we facing a situation where those playing aren’t anywhere near 100%? <doh>

Mainoo has been very impressive from what I’ve seen. Kid looks a real baller in the making.

Eriksen may be a grandad now but we know first hand his quality with a football at his feet. He’ll only need half a second and could easily split our defence open with his vision.

Fernandes would then likely benefit from Eriksen’s vision and then dive for a penalty in the box.

He probably has 10 consecutive games max to
prove to the Germany manager that he is worthy
    of a Euro22 squad place.

The motivation is there, more so with Son being absent.

Agree mainoo has looked solid but not at the level of skipp or hjolberg. Those two and bentanccur should run all over them.

I would take Mainoo and Eriksen over Skipp and Hojbjerg every day of the week. Offered a draw now I would shake hands and walk on, can't see us getting anything.

If we need a goal Donley must get a chance in the last 30 surely.

And to add, Lilywhite Rose is under the impression Sessegnon is injured, so presumably not unwell like Kulu.

What an absolute waste of Spurs he’s been.

Is he, pound for pound, the worst signing in our history? Richarlison, Ndombele and Lo Celso certainly all in with shouts and the Brazilian was initially my frontrunner but £30m, abysmal in just about every appearance he’s made whilst also injured for what feels about 65-70% of the games he could’ve played in.

He makes Lamela look robust but then again so does Lo Celso

He’d fit this system far better than Skipp and Hojbjerg though. If Utd look to take the game to us and control the middle, a trio of him, Eriksen and Fernandes will likely dominate Skipp-Berg and Bentancur, it’s basically 3 vs 1 in terms of the ability to control a game.

I’d take mainoo due to his age but he’s not getting ahead of either of hjolberg and skipp. All he does is tidy up and pass it simple which is exactly what skipp’s strength is.

Hjolberg’s ability on the ball is severely underrated.

The sight of that back 4 warming up is truly one for sore eyes.

Bentancur will have his hands full in terms of carrying the midfield from a technical standpoint. Hopefully our 3 can get around Eriksen, Bruno and Mainoo and unsettle them a bit. Fernandes always worries me when we play them though. He’s got goals from nowhere in his locker.

Fancy Donley to get some minutes today too. Hopefully the pace we have on the wings can cause some problems. We’ll need to stretch them, keep the fullbacks involved in the game so we can move the ball fast, and try and physically dominate the middle of the park. Skipp is busy and PEH and Bentancur are big men.

Nervous about today as I am before any game at Old Trafford but hopefully we can get something.

Oh well buckle up and see what happens. As already stated that midfield is a bit of a concern....

    Mainoo is quality.

Eriksen can still do the technical stuff even though he’s well past his peak.
