Just said very similar in the transfer thread, it'll boil down to who is more consistent, get our injured players back and the lads from Africa Cup and ya never know. Specially as I think we'll see a few coming in to bolster us.
Given the leniency shown by yesterday's referee, the priority signing must be a snarling, mad, ****house, leg-breaking monster. If the adage, you cannot score from row z, is true. Then sign someone to put both both ball and player there. Not suggesting we peruse the released list from football clubs. More due for release from Broadmoor.
I was pretty impressed with Slater on Friday. There were a few of times in the second half when he was trying to gee the team on, and a couple of times I caught he reminding Tufan where he was meant to be (left wing at the time). Looked more of a leader on the field than either Coyle or Greaves.
Ha ha, just spotted and understand my error . I’m completely dyslexic and find posting on here a daunting prospect!!!
Did not see the game. But watched the highlights I thought we looked good. In particular Twine seemed to be having a better game and a couple of times we were inches off scoring, especially the shot from Tufan that hit the top corner of the goal post.
Looking at that table the only sides with less wins than us in the last five games are the bottom three.
Coyle is good as an off field 'club captain' sort of thing, but neither him or Greaves are on field leaders / captain material. I agree, Slater would at least be a better options. It's ridiculous how we continue to go without proper on field leaders. But it's another thing that Rosenior seems to insist we don't need. He's wrong.
So why mention it? In a case the decision on what to accept is not yours. I have a feeling those who make the decisions would accept than in an instant.
