Paddy's first season with us he only was able to make 15 starts but still scored 9 goals. So you think that's not good ? The following season he was top scorer when we won the League and the season after that he was nearly top scorer in the PL.
Bamford was played through on goal early and his first touch took him wide and he dragged his shot wide. He missed the chance and fell on his arse. The ball landed at him and he prodded it in for the goal. Georginio played him through on goal and he hesitated allowing the keeper to gather. Then Dan James slipped him through on goal and he hit the keeper. I'm not saying he should have scored all of those but in the end he was fortunate to get the one he did get. The flip side of that is that his movement created alot of those chances and that's the issue with him. He does some things right but he doesn't consistently finish things off. Then he shows he is capable of something special like his goal against Peterborough. Alot of his previous clubs managers, coaches and fans share the same frustrations we do. It was also reported that he wanted the penalty off Summerville and Summerville wouldn't give him the ball. The ego on the fella with his penalty record to try and take the ball off Summerville. It also puts more pressure on Summerville to score because he knows that he HAS to score it to prove that he is the man for penalties. I'm not blaming him for Jimmy missing but he certainly didn't help.
Can you remove the goals he scored as a sub if we are not counting appearances from the bench. You would have been top scorer if you'd have played in that Bielsa team. The ONE good season he had was the first one in the PL. He was excellent. The question mark on that one will always be about the lack of pressure in empty stadiums as he hadn't performed like that before or since that season. Then there is his injury record?
Sounds good mate. I'm getting away for some sun in March. -1C here. Frosty. Swam a mile in the pool this morning at 8 o clock. Just done a 3 mile walk up to the local trig point. Sat down watching telly now with a coffee.
Scored twice from his 7 substitute appearances in that first Bielsa season. Bottom line is a fit Bamford is imperative to our success or otherwise.
Seems you're not able to differentiate between a fully fit Patrick Bamford and the one that desperate managers kept putting on the pitch when he clearly wasn't ready. Farke is the first to fully understand this and so gave Bamford a few months of continual training before asking him to start games This is why we're now beginning to see the real Paddy again.
Yep, we are seeing the real Paddy again. Look at the chances he missed yesterday. Also, Farke is playing Bamford out of desperation. Remember the press conference earlier this season when he refused to be questioned on Georginio playing at 10. I'll say that again....he refused to be questioned on it. He said he knew what he was doing and that Georginio was his 9 and Piroe was his 10. He said he would never answer questions about this again. We lose a few games and all of a sudden Georginio is a 10 and it works. Then he comes out and says he has been working with Georginio behind the scenes on him playing 10 because he wasn't able to do it earlier in the season. It all sounds a bit dodgy to me.
He's scored 3 goals in as many games in a dominant Leeds line-up against teams some really poor teams. Let's not get carried away.
Virtually everyone on here was absolutely desperate to give him away for nothing only 2 weeks ago. The fact they were wrong needs highlighting so that hopefully they can learn from the experience and become better fans for it
Everyone wanted to give him away for free? Stop with the generalising and name names. It's time these people were called out.
I understand what you're saying. Daniel Farke has handed Djed Spence (someone regarded by many as being the best right back in the division) back to Spurs!!!
Why they know who are and if they've got anything about them they'll come on and admit they were wrong about Bamford
Farke is making tough but fair decisions for the betterment of the club. Whereas a weak manager, who's only interested in saving his own skin might put it with the tardy time keeping and bad attitudes and just hope for good results.
