Me too but I believe we need a better balance. Think we’re desperate for some experience, especially down the spine.

I've never seen Clarke play that role well. Firstly, it blunts his attacking effectiveness as he's largely receiving the ball in deeper areas and has 2 opposition players ahead of him. Secondly, he has zero defensive instincts and often dives into challenges, or jumps to block a cross and gets turned.

We have 3 youth coaches basically and its telling.
Beale was out of his depth at rangers and unsurprisingly he isn't up to it here.

Clarke is still playing n he would still get forward, rusyn would be more effective coming from a wider position n clarke would still get forward

We would also be getting 5/6 players high up the pitch when we have it so would give us more of an attacking threat

Thats just what i would do

In your opinion he hasnt been n he wouldnt have 2 players ahead of him. He would just be picking up the ball deeper, which is where he is so dangerous

We need a system that makes more of our players dangerous not just clarke. For me the best system for the team is this one but its just my opinion- you could pick holes in every simgle system

Indeed you could, but using a system that blunts the effectiveness of our most influential player would be a mistake

It's the players, not the system that are at fault. Too many individual errors are costing us goals and games

As mentioned out of possession we would slide to more of a 442 with o9 covering the LB position that way he isnt getting so isolated

If you gave the ball to Clarke with nobody between him and the goalkeeper he'd go back and find two players to beat anyway.

*Exaggeration for comic effect, for those of you without a sense of humour*

Maybe it would blunt his effectiveness but no guarantees it would.

Ive used that system many times as a coach n had our best attacking player playing that role n they can be more dangerous there as they are picking up the ball in space between the lines more. He would still be able to push up high when we have it so he would still be a massive attacking threat.

I dont think the system is great for us at the minute, we have zero attacking threat from the fullback positions n obviously got nothing upfront (yes we couod make the case, as i have before, that we need to give rusyn a run of games) and we havent had great production from RM. We need to try something a bit different at times when plan A isnt working or we are chasing a game

Im not saying the formation n the players i would pick would be in place for every game as thats stupid - its horses for courses. I just feel there are times when we need to switch formation more to make us more of an attacking threat

We absolutely do. We also have youth on our side and have legs in the team.

Where has the high press gone ?
Why is it so slow, tappy tappy with zero intent?
Where are the runs wide and in behind ?

I would have loved to have seen them both here. Michut was so good at times for us and I am sure in his second season here would have been better. He would have been the man to oust Ekwah when in poor form anyway.

Yeah no idea why weve stopped pressing teams, we were one of the best teams at winning the ball high up the pitch - this in turn makes us more attacking as winning the ball in better positions

I'm beginning to wonder whether these young lads are beginning to believe their own hype. Too much strolling about 'watch me beat this man, do a trick, ole!

And it's the same mistakes every single time. Dallying on the ball and lazy when moving it on.

I think they will be a bit disillusioned with the new instructions to be honest. Prichard letting loose coming off last night etc. Jobe looked fumming too.

This time last year we beat Boro 2-0. Look at our team that day, granted Evans went off injured but still, no square pegs. Alese at LB is probably the biggest concern in the team we fielded that day.

I wouldn't say we'd ditched the high press, we nearly scored a couple last night as a direct result of pressuring their defence.

If Pritchard didn't stand on the ball (or whatever happened) he's clear through on goal and obviously there's Adil's miss.
