Not sure why so many fans keep saying this. There is no maximum on loan players championship teams can get. The only restriction is that we can only have 5 in a matchday squad. I am assuming this is just for depth, particularly as cover for Aribo for the next month.
If true, the only way that makes sense is if Downes is being recalled!? Don’t see why else we’d need another DM.
I've read that He was attacking midfielder for Blackburn, before he joined Bournemouth who has been mode of a defensive midfielder. Perhaps he is the perfect link between Downes and Stuey.
I really can’t find the definitive rules on this. Where do you get this info from? I’ve found some EFL regulations but I can’t make head nor nail of them! The following restrictions shall apply to Temporary Loan Transfers: A maximum of 5 Players registered on a Temporary Loan Transfer can be named in the Players listed on a Team Sheet for any individual match played under the auspices of The League. This maximum shall reduce to 4 Players where a Club names a Player on the team sheet who is registered on an Emergency Goalkeeper Loan; No Club may sign more than 4 Players on a Temporary Loan Transfer from another Club (or club) in any Season, of which no more than 2 Players may be over the age of 23. The deadline for determining a Player’s age in this respect shall be as at the 30 June prior to the Season in which the Temporary Loan Transfer is intended to take place. Any Temporary Loan Transfer which subsequently becomes a permanent transfer shall not count against a Club’s quota of such Temporary Loan Transfers for that Season;
Basically means that a club can't (1) name more than 5 loanees in their matchday 20-man squad, (2) have more than 2 loanees over the age of 23 from the same club, and (3) have more than 4 loanees of any age from the same club. But beyond that, crack on. If you want 10 loanees in the squad, fill your boots.
The poor ****ers who do the shirts in the club shop will have a full on stroke if he turns out to be any good.
