It can be and is. The recruitment needs to be better. He needs to do better. We have regressed and look worse under his coaching

We just seem so slow in possession. Ontjoght it might be confidence but I'm not so sure now

We overachieved last season as a promoted club. Without that, this season would look better.

We lost narrowly to the team in second.

Jobe apparently played as a 9 at times in youth football.

It's difficult to change too much tactically when the squad contains so many similar players.

There will be a good reason that no recognised CF started today, even if we don't understand it. It won't just have been done on a whim.

    Dips in form happen.

    Just some thoughts for consideration.

Could’ve been first season syndrome too. Nobody knew how to play against us and now we’ve been found out whilst losing a few key players.

We are definitely weaker this season. Even Gooch would have made a difference in a few games this season

Yeah that's what I mean. Teams no its give the ball to Clarke and hope something happens. Last season Clarke, on the left but Roberts and amad on the right we were so dangerous.

What is your opinion though, other than

We don't understand it but there is a reason? Surely we can question the tactical decisions? Or is there a reason that we don't know ?

It can't just be Amad though, Roberts is still here but we just seem slower getting forward and moving the ball

Hard to argue with that tbh. We've gone so far backwards in style, creativity and goals scored this season.
I've been saying it for a long time we are way too laboured and slow all over the pitch.
On top of that we are too lightweight and lack pace.
I think we should start building for next season now.

Not really minor though, id be pished off now if i was Rusyn. Also despite bringing in Hemir, Mayenda and Burstow we have a 18 year old box to box midfielder keeping them out the team yet again and playing out of position.

The whole feel of how our clubs being run feels so wrong right now.

I agree. The issue is, Beale really doesnt seem to be the man. I don't think anyone wanted him and I am yet to meet a Sunderland fan who is happy with the appointment. It's even worse now due to the performances we are putting in. It's a big month for us in terms of recruitment. But I think it's big for the future of the coach personally.

It can’t be mostly on both. It literally can’t.

I don’t know what the answer is but I’d love to see us try a different formation, this one seems to have become too easy to nullify.

Stop Clarke from playing and we create very little else. Put pressure on our defence to prevent playing out from the back as we have no alternative outlet.

Tin hat on here, but please hear me out.
I would draw a parallel with the appointment of Graeme Murty as the U21 head coach, results initially were not good. The point I recall from that period was Murty saying something along the lines of he was looking for the players to take greater responsibility and think for themselves and the team. I took that to mean he didn't want to be telling the players what to do all the time during the game. It took a while for that message to get across and for players to adjust but we seem to be getting there.
I feel that Beale is trying to introduce new systems and new ideas but is having some difficulty in getting the message across, and I think your comment of playing by numbers is fair. If Beale is given time I feel that the players will adjust and do the mechanical things without thinking which will then let them do the instinctive things that will make us look better and more dangerous.
The problem for me is that people are just not prepared to give anyone any time at all, it's as if they have to be an instant success.

Anyway that's my thought, tin hat on etc. Etc.

We must be one of the most easiest team talks to any manager in the league..

Double up on Clarke and then theyll have zero goal threat.

No strikers so sit back, let them run out of ideas and punish them on the break.

    The list goes on...

Look at all these signings, including some from last season. round pegs for square holes.

Rusyn - mostly a left sided forward - expected to be a cf
Adil - No. 10 or and 8. Now expected to play rm
Mayander - right sided forward - expected to be a cf
Pembele - right wing back - we don't play wing backs
    Jobe - no 8 - now a 9 or a 10
Ekwah - no 8 - trying to get him to play as a 6
Michut - no 8 - had to play as 1 of the 6's
Amad - right forward - gave him a free role as he was a cheat code
Gelhardt - second striker- we played him as our only striker

We’re missing quality and goals. Less so Roberts tonight Ba did well, Adil didn’t. Amad’s goals from half chances are a massive miss. Add his goals to a strikers to Clarkes and we win tonight. We’re short. Doesn’t excuse being defensively disorganised tonight though. Somethings changed at the back. Hard to see from TV.
