Looks that way but don't worry, we're strengthening the squad even though our better players are leaving
Down to 16th. 6 points above the bottom four. **** off SE7. About time we did what Reading fans are doing at this very moment. Plastic pigs ? Pathetic.
Nobody is really expecting us to compete with Peterborough though. They are a well run team going for promotion.
I don’t know. There was plenty of positivity amongst our naive fan base after we bought a couple of players that no one’s ever heard of.
I think the naive fans are the ones that think this can be fixed in 5 minutes and throw their toys out the pram because we can’t attract players like Messi to sign for us
Both Campbells hooked at half time. Kanu and L Watson on. Is this Appleton admitting he got the first half line up all wrong ? And we score within 4 minutes of the restart. The team is poor but some of Appletons decisions are non-sensical. How is he better than Holden ?
I’m sorry - this wasn’t aimed at the light hearted optimism on here just at those elsewhere who still think we have a chance of the play-offs this season based on the signings we’ve made in January. That is delusional.
I'm not particularly upset because of today's result. Plenty of teams will lose to Peterborough and the other top 6 or 7 in the league. I don't know whether we actually competed with them. The scoreline suggests we may have, for a time at least. It's the dozen or so winnable games against lesser opposition that Charlton have squandered that upsets me. 16 points off 6th place now. That's a gap we are never going to close. We'll be lucky if that gap is still as "narrow" as 16 by the end of the season.
On a positive the newbies looked to be half decent - albeit there was a lot of ****e out there in comparison
It’s the gap below us which is more notable. We currently sit just 2 points above 18th and a number of teams now have games in hand. We have the equal worst form in the league over the last 5 games and if repeated we will finish second bottom. We have a dreadful run of games in February, including home and away to Derby, away to Bolton and home to Pompey. Unless we improve significantly before the end of January we will be in deep sh*t by the end of February.
Crazy starting 11. We were so bad in the first half it looked like this would be the week wegot a drubbing. 2 wing-backs and 2 wingers? The Campbells looked totally lost but at least Apples corrected it at H/T. after the fans gave the team both barrels when they went off. Bakinson and Florini looked decent enough and Coventry looks a cut above. We could wel have won it, but Posh defended well. Kanu has to start, I think he's ready.
