Sorry was just replying to when you mentioned is it normal for a 20 odd year old to waltz past players and poke the ball past keeper.
One positive from last night. Pandur was watching the game. He’ll be thinking he’s getting straight into the starting line up.
Pity he wasn't playing last-night then, although I'm fairly sure he'd have been finishing the move off minus his jersey, one leg and his scalp!!
Well Jones was at fault for their second. Did well to win the ball and instead of playing a simple ball back to his teammate (play simple football when needed), he proceeded to let their player win the thing back. Cross, bang Norwich 2nd. What a **** up
On a different note, I thought it was a nice touch of the club to include the lad from Grimsby town and his dad in the remembrance thing.
Your last sentence sums us up. A lot of sides are more street wise than us. We play naive football. It's a bit like watching your kids play lovely football on a weekend when they are there to enjoy themselves. We play in a 'mans' league, a proper tough professional division and experienced players know how to get one over on us every week. How many times do you see Twine, Greaves, Connolly and others raise their arms asking why they haven't got a free kick. Answer, way too many. Get ****ing stuck in to 'em for gods sake. Pretty football never won anything.
On another note, Tufan needs to sort his antics out and stop throwing himself to the floor. He has improved the combative side of his game no end but this really lets him down, he’s getting as bad as Twine.
We play in a man's league but we're drastically short of men in this squad... We're short on tackling players all over the pitch and it shows when we come up against the 'Norwich's' of this division...We're powderpuff,it's been duly noted and it's here to stay until such times as we address it in the transfer market!! It does make you wonder where some of these lads played their Football when they were growing up? I played a bit when I was younger in a couple of Glasgow Leagues. If you weren't a man when you started out,you were when your career finished...
We played well in many places, and had some decent chances which needed great saves. We’re just too nice though. Their first goal was crying out for someone to clatter him ‘professionally’ and take the card. He finished it well though and I think the early shot did for Allsop. We got bullied and pushed off too often, and the ref was a disgrace who should have stamped his authority on the game early, but spent half an hour not giving anything, then suddenly realised he’d ****ed up and started waving them around. Decision to give a free kick against Connolly was one of the worst I’ve seen. Need a nastier, more cynical, edge. Suppose that is a product of a young team though
Just like Long John Silver, except rather than a parrot, it's a turkey or Guinea foul on his shoulder ! https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-f...3706914438eed8cf6c08d39446b3f60f&searchtype=0
He should. I’m still pretty sure an athletic keeper saves their first and maybe has a crack at the second
