V v well another championship game comes before the sellout home replay with WHU. We need to pick up points here - minimum one and three would be ideal. City will be on a high after the draw at West Ham where we clearly were the better side in the second half. I am going for a 1-2 win to us. Setting us up nicely for the cup game at Ashton Gate on Tuesday evening.
my first game of the season, just a 40 min drive from here in southport and the wife said i am like a 7 year old not bloody 70; coyr
Preston is the only away ground I went to on my own. I had a meeting in Warrington over two days went to the game on my own 1-1 if I remember.
We lack class in the final third of the pitch which means we lack firepower as well. Several good chances thrown away by lack of options but we are still playing decent controlled football.
Lack of concentration by Bell almost cost us a goal but we live another day. Come on City keep up the pressure.
All in all a fairly good first half by City but how I wonder what we could be with an all out striker/play maker up front. I still see us playing the ball backwards too much and at times we do that when there are acres of space for us to go forward but we lose the impetus by retreating instead of attacking a somewhat weak Preston. Mehmeti for me is too soft on the ball and he needs a couple of goals to boost his ego but we need those goals sooner rather than later. This is a game that we can win but we have to stay focused, especially in the final 10 minutes, but better work on the edge of their penalty area might just get the job done for the full 3 points.
We have started the 2nd half on the back foot and need to get back on track. I don't want to pick on Mehmeti but his decision making is very poor at times and that could cost us in this game.
