Hoos interview is very informative too. A positive move....and means the owners are going nowhere surely
Also must mean that the owners are hanging around too. You do not make that sort of appointment and then bu**er off do you?
Given his background, this looks a good appointment. A very interesting interview on the offy where he says, inter alia: "That [FFP] prevents us being active in the January transfer window." Unless we sell someone, presumably.
Having listened to the new CEO's interview, it sounds very much like we're preparing for relegation and a rebuild.
Interesting appointment. He seems to come to us with the relevant experience. Did make me think ‘ahhh … now I get why Ramsey has left’. He clearly didn’t fit the new plan and/or wasn’t buying into the idea to recruit and develop players that fit the direction of the first team (why would he, he hasn’t in the last nine years). We knew there wasn’t really anyone coming in during January, unless someone was sold. Who really wants to buy our players who are not able to fight their way out of this adversity. I hope he does the business. But it does look like a rebuild for Marti if this group of players can’t pull themselves together and start doing what he needs from them.
A lot of management guff-speak in that interview - he loves a bit of "going forward" doesn't he? Still, good luck to him. If he can get us to defend a corner and score the occasional goal, he'll be a hero.
I'm not sure the consulting experience he has is relevant to running a lower league football club from blocked toilets to temperamental football players with their greedy agents, but I wish him well.
