Yes, I was the fan representative on the stadium Safety Advisory Group and it was discussed at length (when I say at length, I mean for hours).

Hull FC haven't played a game yet, so quite clearly can't have had any impact on the pitch.

The curremt poor state of the ptich isn't something new. It is 20 years old and has been used all year round for those 20 years. It hasn't even had one season of recovery. The season for it to recover is during the summer. Who plays on it in the summer?

I obviously don't know what you discussed, but the stadium is built on the same vaguely north/south axis as nearly every other ground. And what about the towering stands at PL stadiums that block out the sun totally?

It was fine when the rugby season finished, you can't blame them four months later and it hasn't been used all year round for twenty years, this pitch was only laid in June.

I'm no expert on these things, I'm just passing on what those that are experts said in the meetings I sat in on.

We're certainly not alone, the problem is so bad at Wembley, that they now grow the pitches miles from London and truck them in every time the pitch needs relaying (which is up to seven times a year).

Acun has talked about adding a tier to the east and with the addition of safe standing in the north I don’t think we are moving anytime soon.

Got to hope the FC follow up on the their threats of moving out at some point but there’s no way they have the finances to build their own

Imagine it hinges on the away team selling there end. As someone has said, Sunderland will probably be it.

Can't see these selling out on a sky televised Friday game.

In fact a quick google suggests the Sunderland game was the highest Championship attendance at the MKM

Wouldn’t it be cheaper for Acun to build FC a stadium rather than building a new stadium for City?

A parting gift, use this stadium, and don’t come back

That was included in the most recent plans wasn't it? Probably about a year ago now. It was a big development of the stadium area, including a smaller stadium for the academy and for FC. Probably not a realistic prospect, but Acun and Tan reckoned it was their plan.

Gift them Costello Stadium, they will probably struggle to fill it though. Or better yet, ground share with KR, with a view to eventually merging the clubs. Which they should do anyway, we might have a better chance of having a successful Rugby team in the city.

Probably not. Won’t be as many away fans for a Friday night televised game as Sunderland brought.

That's way too logical and sensible!
Unfortunately the delusion will continue (that it's a big sport, in need of a big stadium, with a city capable of supporting 2 top sides, etc etc <yes, I know that was the case 40+ years ago but times are very different now).
Nothing against RL or the Hull clubs. Just needs a bit of realism adding.
