I think the Fabio hype will swing this one whether he scores or not. With all the press this week he'll be in Norwich's head. 2-1 but they'll make it difficult in the second half.
May be the first time we see Norwich play in yellow today. Both their away kits kind of clash with our predominantly black home kit
Oh to achieve the rank of buffoon. My brother is travelling up from six finger land for tonight's game. He's doing missionary work down there, a hard job as he can't get the locals out of their attics. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
We splash out a lot of money on players but it'd be good to put some of that into maintaining the pitch.
The weather has been proper **** here past few weeks. Hopefully the lack of rain over next couple of weeks before the rugby starts helps
Other clubs seem to cope. If we were in the PL I'm sure we'd cope better because we'd be able to allocate more funds to it. As LR says, it's impacting on us as we're a possession heavy team so I'm just surprised when we have so much money to spend convincing guys like Carvalho to join we can't spend more on the pitch that is required to let those guys play well.
You can protect the pitch with better covers, you can invest in better heaters, there's plenty of things that can be done.
It's nothing to do with funding. The direction the stadium was built in means that parts of the pitch get very little sunlight, we try and compensate by using lamps all the time, but it can't do the job of actual sunlight. Things have now been compounded by the fact that it hasn't stopped raining for weeks.
Covering the pitch wouldn't hep, it doesn't get enough sunlight already, depriving of more would just make it worse.
I dont think you realise how properly crap the weather has been specifically around here. We've had 4 games on the pitch since the 16th to boot. I believe when it rains the heaters can't go out and its rained pretty much non stop
How do so many other clubs manage? They've had rain; some places worse than us. They're pitches aren't perfectly aligned for sunlight. They probably haven't spent as much as us over the years of the KC. Something seems fundamentally wrong.
You can cover the pitch from the elements and provide artificial light. I'm no expert but as GFAW points out, other clubs manage. I'm sure it would cost a reasonable amount of money so I'm not for a minute suggesting it's an easy solution. But it's just one of those things along with the quality of the training pitch that I feel would provide pretty tangible benefits to the club but because it's not a big money signings doesn't seem to attract the same enthusiasm and focus from club owners.
No, you are right, I never watch City play away from home and I never watch any other games or highlights on tv, you tube, firestick, etc.
Have watched Bristol and Swansea recently who share their pitch with a union team. Union causes more wear to a pitch and has ben played at the same time all through the winter month. Their pitches look as good, if not better than the MKM where only we have been playing. Won’t go down well with some but it is obvious the faults are with the pitch and not the eggchasers.
