Danny Guthrie

I was reading this article and I was thinking will Danny Guthrie sign a new contract? What do you guys think? I hope he does, he has been great this year and he is good cover for Tiote and Cabaye.

Think both him and Coloccini will get sorted out.

 

Always liked Guthrie but I always thought his effort and defensive game was a bit suspect. Looks as if Pardew's instilled a bit of fight in him and he looks a far better player cos of it

 

Hes proving his doubters wrong, I for one always thought he was just going to be a back up bit part player with our new french additions coming in, however he is really pushing his envelope!

 

i hope he does he's won me round but if he gets dropped for tiote (which he should) that might make him think,i also think he's good cover but he'll probably want first team football.

 

Liked him when I first saw him and thought he'd become a regular but he seemed to go off the boil a bit and lost his form. However he's shown lately that he's still got it and has looked good when he's played.

 

Whenever he comes into the fold in his favourite position he more often than not does a good job. It's only when he used to get stuck om the right that he is ****.

 

Think If Tiote was not injured - we would have 3 in CM and Ben Arfa on the right against City

 

Yeah Tiote would have been holding Cabaye and Guthrie would have been able to push on more.

Just what I was thinking.

 

Not really a fan of this myself. I think Ben Arfa wouldn't offer enough width (which I like) and I always want two up top! Not overly keen having Hatem playing as a number 10 in the hole either because of that! Really don't know where I would play him if I was Pardew, because he is too good to leave out!
