The Club can provide a fitness update on the following players: ♦️ Dennis Cirkin ♦️ Niall Huggins ♦️ Bradley Dack ♦️ Patrick Roberts More details... ️ Sunderland AFC defender Dennis Cirkin has undergone surgery on his left hamstring. The 21-year-old, who last featured in November, is now expected to be out of action for a minimum of 12 weeks, as he starts a rehabilitation programme at the Academy of Light. After suffering a significant knee injury during the festive period, Niall Huggins has also undergone surgery and the defender will miss at least the remainder of the campaign. Forward Bradley Dack is continuing his recovery from a hamstring injury, with Patrick Roberts expected to return from a calf injury next month.
Cirkin and Huggins have both done well when fit and in the side but unfortunately they miss more games than they play.
For me, a fit Dennis Cirkin has one of the highest 'ceilings' in regards to development potential. He also makes Clarke an even better player than he already is with the way he plays. He's been a massive miss for us.
I don't like the "at least the end of this season" comment on Huggins. Are we looking at another Evans situation with him being out over a year? Has there been any mention of Evans? We were told December/January for his return but there is a stony silence around the club
Don’t know where the bloke got his info but was told before the mags match that Huggins was 2 year that’s if he’s able to come back at all
Caught a bit at the end before they turned the cameras off and he said Evans was still a bit off coming back.
With Cirkin out for the next 12 weeks, do we need to look for a left back or have we got enough cover?
I reckon we need one in. Alese is only just back from injury himself and if anything happens to him we are moving Hume over and then looking at Pembele who still needs time to get up to speed.
