They've now won nine, lost nine and drawn eight, so sit 10th, four points from a playoff place. The only glimmer of hope is that they aren't in great form, having lost one and drawn two since last winning on December 23rd. They did beat Chesterfield to get to something called The FA Cup Fourth Round...I vaguely remember hearing that phrase but can't quite place where I know it from. Their top scorer is Mileta Rajovic with 9 goals so far this season. As for us, we're now five points from Championship safety, and our FA Cup second half melt down against Bournemouth was sadly predictable. From reading on here, and a fair few comments on twitter, it seems patience is already running thin with Cifuentes. For my part, and I know I've said this before, playing the ball short from Begovic to Dunne/Fox/Clarke-Salter so often results in the opposition immediately putting us under pressure in our own half and winning the ball back, or forcing us to lump it to a very lonely front man. Surely we'll have more joy taking long goal kicks, trying to win the header and seeing what we can get from the second ball. I was at the Southampton game, and I'll be interested to hear thoughts and other suggestions below. Cheers Dave. A better performance than our incredibly poor display in the away fixture has to be nailed on. Hasn’t it? Time of kick off makes it a real bastard to get to, our inability to defend corners also detracts from motivation to get there. I found the Cardiff game incredibly demoralising. Pondering.
Have we really beaten them 53 times? My word..... have memories of going there in the 80's and they always beat us.....

I foolishly went to the first game naively full of expectation that my team might put in a decent show for the first game. I can't make this one so we'll probably go and win!
KO 1200 on my tickets. Plan to get to the Red Lion and Pineapple about 0830, breakfast and a few ciders.
