We have Gerry Adams at the head of the table. Bromley South spoons best customer next to him, and a geezer from Canada twiddling his thumbs. All today will be a lip service exercise.....to put our minds at rest
God. The online Q&A is painful to watch. PE needs to stop going on courses and get back to the real world. He really is just like David Brent with his management speak. Pointless him being there. As for the other two and Charlotte, it’s all just party line stuff, the plans are being put in place, it’s a long term project, there’s money available, it’s very difficult to sign players in January. So basically just the same as the other 23 teams in the division. But we are failing. We are going backwards. We aren’t buying good enough players. The strategy isn’t working. And as for the final condescending comment from Charlotte that no matter what happens there is one constant at the club and that is the unwavering support from fans - please, fans are deserting in greater and greater numbers and will continue to do so until we see more investment in better players and a dramatic upturn in performances. They just don’t seem to get it.
I assume there was not a player signing announcement yesterday then. We still haven't got the JCH deal over the line
BB thinks the fact that he’s injured (another one!) means we should relax and let JCH think about the move and make sure he really wants to !
Had we signed JCH my first question was going to be "well what's wrong with him then?" So he's injured. Marvellous.
Sale? He's not cheap- £450,000 for an ageing L1 striker with injury problems. I've only seen him once and he didn't do a lot then.
Minor calf strain apparently. Don’t worry though we’ll soon change that, he’ll be out for 6 months before you can say A&Eke
I posted the other day that none of us had a bad word to say about JCH. Now according more than one of us he's an ageing crock We're a tough lot to please
Listening to that rubbish last night I don’t think the issue of whether or not he’s injured will bother us as he won’t be coming to The Valley to play in a Charlton shirt. But there’s no rush - apparently it’s now a 5 year target to get us out of L1 . And this mad idea of having 8 top class players who will get into any L1 team, plus 8 average L1 players, plus 8 academy kids in the squad is just fantasy, considering that we still have to reduce annual losses to about £1.5M, whilst getting lower and lower crowds and less match day revenue. Let’s see where we are so far……how many top L1 players do we have out of the 8…….. 1) Alfie May 2) Errrrr…………
Rumour doing some serious lifting that Conor Coventry was in for a medical today and seems to be on the point of signing. Reliable source here - Tash Everitt!
