What a furking joke -get the cheque book out and get ambitious @BristolCity no wonder we are where we are-ambition is not our clubs big strength.
This is ambition- How are teams like Hull able to get players like Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool on Loan, why can't we attract players like this please log in to view this image
10:43Dan Marsh Bristol Rovers face Martin fight Bristol Rovers striker Chris Martin is attracting interest from the Championship. The veteran front man, 35, has a short-term deal which runs until the end of the month and has held talks with the League One outfit about an extension. But Martin has other suitors including QPR, where he spent the second half of last season. Bristol City - another of Martin's former clubs - are also taking stock of his situation as are an unnamed club currently in the League One promotion mix. Martin has struck eight times in 16 league matches for Rovers this term and is currently their leading goalscorer after joining the club in late September. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-news-live-arsenal-liverpool-31837640
The mind really starts to boggle when I read stories about a player like Chris Martin being on our radar. Firstly I don't think our radar has ever identified any decent players and secondly if it has a filter set at 35 years of age then what is the point of even looking. Most teams in the Championship have more commitment to their supporters in their pinkie finger than we have in the entire organization and when I see the action going on at these other clubs it tends to make me ask why the hell do I bother to support Bristol City? The lack of progress based on the statements made by the owners and managers is starting to resemble a sick joke and after the high praise we got from the commentators during our stellar performance against West Ham why the heck do we continue to do our business in the way that we do? There have been too many occasions where we have been in a reasonable position to succeed but when it came down to looking for the final piece or pieces of the puzzle we just wandered off into the wilderness and failed to make any moves that made sense. Here we are yet again in the January transfer window seeing other clubs take loanees from top Premier outfits when all we can do is sign 2 youngsters with very little pedigree (sorry young-uns) and now are apparently looking at a 35 year old who has been here and did very little. Perhaps a Netflix movie is on the cards about the fantasy world existing at a football club down in the sticks who have failed at making any impact at their chosen sport whilst very little clubs like Luton and others have surpassed them in going from non-league to Premiership in less than 15 years. It may all sound like a sick joke and I am starting to lose the plot because that's what being a Bristol City fan is all about - sadly.
I hope not, but it smacks of the type of striker signing we would make in the Jan window in the Landsdown era…..
I was just about to post about this (Martin). I really hope it’s not true. Martin is not what we need now. …. unless our ambition is to be more like Bristol Rovers….(?) …. I sometimes wonder….

Liam Manning hopes Bristol City can still make some noise in a painfully quiet transfer window Bristol City have been frustrated in the early part of the window but head coach Liam Manning remains confident some business can still be concluded before January 31 https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/liam-manning-bristol-city-transfer-9028260
I still have nightmares over our last 5 million quid player but at least this one is home grown. As far as hope is concerned I think it left the building many years ago and I have a strange feeling that we could be done as far as new players goes. Perhaps 2.5 mill +add ons might do the trick for Twine because if he is any good he won't stay long with Bristol City and Burnley could reap a sell on bonus.
