Pardon my ignorance because I’m not too well versed in Spurs’ finances, but isn’t selling Kane the reason why you’ve improved other areas of your squad? If you’d kept Kane, do these other signings happen? FWIW I reckon you’d have been up there with Liverpool right now if Kane was still at the club (and those other signings still happen). Naturally, I’m glad this isn’t the case . Feels like the roles of our respective clubs have reversed from last season, though.
If you apply the 'tenets of failure' , Spurs are not doing the economically bit (money or time) well at all. That has to improve : either avoidance or immediate correction after the fact I suspect "moneyball" stattery could help in the former, the latter I have no suggestions for,.
Honestly it feels less like the money we got from selling Harry Kane and more due to the change in mindset that it brought For the last 2-3 seasons it felt like our tactical plan was "Get the ball to Harry" and that was it, and teams often worked us out as a result given he was the main source not just for goals but also our main creative outlet - but with him gone that's put the responsibility both on the players who remained from last season (most obviously Sonny, Deki, Sarr and Richy) while those who weren't with us last season come in knowing they need to make a big impression on arrival (notably Maddison and Udogie) Similar can be said of the on-pitch hierarchy, given the massive sea change in that Last season: Hugo captain, Harry vice-captain, Dier 3rd captain, Hojbjerg presumably 4th captain This season: Sonny captain, Maddison & Romero both vice-captain, Bentancur & Davies next in line That's another way to change the way the squad thinks
The PL tax has been a problem for England as a whole. It seems that the financial weakness of certain leagues now (a beneficial by-product of the Wuhan flu ?? ) means that they can't play silly buggers and expect another league to offer not much less should PL suitors walk away.
We had to rebuild whether Kane stayed or not. Obviously the Kane money helps but it's not the be all and end all of our spending. The new stadium was to increase our revenue stream. Overall the status, and interest, in Spurs has increased world wide because of it and also of course because of Kane himself. Son has also increased our revenues from the far east. If you include Richarlison and one other that's our Kane money. IMO Spurs have moved up, we have yet to clearly show that on the pitch but hopefully that's about to change. The signing of Mourinho and Conte were signals of our move up but they didn't work for a number of reasons. Now we have Potentially the best manager we have had for many years and the timing is good. If we keep this all together over the next few seasons I think Spurs are going places.
The boy has a bit of credit in the bank for his appearances to date, but nothing more IMHO to warrant much other than a "promising" label.
You're right, PL tax is and has been a problem for years. But the far bigger problem is entering negotiations after a season where we conceded the sixth most goals in the league and defended like keystone cops, or entering negotiations having played two full backs as centre backs for two months. Both betray a position of desperation, and desperation can and will be exploited by the selling team. We neglected the position for years and now we are paying well over the odds as we scramble to catch up.
Assuming Dragusin passes his medical and doesn't trip over a welcome to Spurs door mat what realistically who would make it a 90/100 transfer window, currently for me it is a 65/100 I knocked off 5 points for the man bun
The interesting thing with Munich is that they were not able to bully Genova into taking less, and Spurs comparatively are not paying that much more. So regardless of how the boy turns out for Spurs, the price paid for him is the market value for him right now.

We've had £100m to spend that we wouldn't have had if he stayed. That basically bought Johnson, Van de Ven and Veliz, of whom only the second has really changed things.
A little unfair on Johnson, contributed a fair bit. Not the finished article but involved with a few goals.
This is going to sound stupid, largely because it is, but he looks quite isolated. I wonder who's going to do what Postecoglou was talking about and welcome him in? We've got a number of characters missing at the moment, too.
The lads are just proper Tottenham, bit weary of a former Chelsea player rocking up. He’s gotta earn his Spurs… That brief training montage though does seem to suggest he’s going to be playing out wide for us to knock them into the box for Richarlison to miss.
It is nice to get some new players signed reasonably quickly and not dragging deals out until the last day of the window. It is also nice to get one over ze arrogant Germans by having a player choose us over them, I have seen very little of Dragusin, hopefully he can add the required depth we need at CB and does not turn out to be Chiriches mk2. The squad could be slowly taking a nice shape, though we still need improvements or more depth at reserve GK, CF, CM & AM.
