West Ham Brighton wolves fulham We have to aim to match the likes of them we need to get there build and sustain That’s the least we can aim for Yes and the occasional cup runs then progress to push for Europe This will take time and hard work however there is no reason why we.cant push for that ?????
Thing is though mate all those clubs are in huge amounts of debt to their owners. I was shocked yesterday that Fulham owe their owner £600 million. These figures make the amount Short lost look like small change.
He’d have been better off saying nowt. We didn’t perform at all on Saturday, just leave it and do your talking at Ipswich this weekend.
But lots of people have praised him and wanted to hear how the players felt. I'm sure taking two minutes to post that won't distract him from training or affect his game. If people don't want to read it why do they ... serious question.
Definitely gets praise from me, thought he, Ballard, Neil, Rusyn and Ba showed up on Saturday, with Pritchard my motm.
I think we have a long way to go, just think I'd prefer to do it the way we are The thing with all these clubs that owe hundreds of millions to their owners is their owners funded the transfers for multi million pound players, yes some maybes anywhere from 8- 10 million but do that for 4 or 5 players over 5 seasons and the amount soon mounts up. If we get in to the routine of signing 6 or 7 quality youngsters for around 1-2 million, in 4-5 years time 4 or 5 could be worth 20 million each giving us around 80- 100 million to spend on transfers minus the signing of more youngsters. I'm sure it's not as easy as that but what I'm saying is that all the youngsters we signed in the summer will not be ready to be sold for maximum profit for 4 to 5 years. We have to continue to recruit young players every year, they will also improve the quality of the first team as the progress through the team. Unfortunately for some even if it works out that way it will take 5 years before we have our production line in full flow, however this is how we will compete in the Premier League without owing our owner hundreds of millions
I’m not sure why. Just keep it shut and crack on with your football. Put a ****e derby performance right on Saturday.
Quite right and the more Youth Team players we develop into good players help even more. As you rightly say it will probably be 5 years plus before we are in that position and i dont know if people will stick with it for that length of time or if it is better to just stay as we are, enjoy the Championship and not over stretch everything.
We could've kept Batth and Gooch who'd want to play. Would that impact on Ballard and Huggins, or whoever. I've no idea but I'd guess young players are attracted to the club because they see a chance at first team football.
Gooch i would have liked to have stayed, but thats a personal opinion. We are clearly providing the kids from all age groups a clear path to the first team and beyond. Its the only viable way to go for us as a club in my opinion.
O’Nien did okay. The team certainly didn’t, though. Not a glove was laid and too much respect was shown. Shape was awful, but I get that comes from the ‘coach’ - Mr Beale. It was a terrible afternoon, on and off the pitch. I hope we start putting it right on Saturday.
I was hoping for a less one sided match but it just shows the gulf of spending power . It was a one off cup game. Did you expect us to batter them ? Will you be calling for KLD 'S head if we lose to Ipswich?
Being honest, I didn’t expect any sort of decent result with Beale in charge. I did expect more fight from our team though. Far too much respect shown and a lack of subs when it clearly wasn’t working. Garbage.
Genuine question. Do you think Tony Mowbray would have got a better result? What would he have done differently? What could he have done to counter their pressing game?
I think we’d have shown more fight under Mowbray. We shouldn’t have been messing about with it at the back, less than a minute after the break FFS. I’m done talking about it - we were ****e.
