We need more teams in Hampshire progressing up the football hierarchy. Eastleigh has a bigger population than Burnley.
I've always thought Burnley are an incredibly well supported club. I remember a few years ago their season average was around 25% of the town's population which is amazing. Even more when you consider how many other clubs are nearby, including the two biggest in the country within an hour's drive.
Poch is doing terribly at Chelsea isn't he. Should still come back to win this but didn't realise they were 10th!
Most MU fans don't live in Manchester anyway, that's what my Citeh mate tells me. You're probably right!
Speaking as a Tottonion we definitely are not Southampton but most are pleased to be near one of the best cities in this country.
Three biggest!! Exactly!! I have always thought that many clubs in the área should be higher up.the footballing pyramid but have been held back due to a lack of investment. I would love Eastleigh to get into the football league, same with Havant and Waterlooville.
Seemed an odd choice for both him and Chelsea. Never looked a good fit on paper and results so far following that.
I think if he’s given time, and more importantly, some level of control (particularly over signings), he’ll be fine. But it feels like Boehly’s ego project.
It’s odd actually - when he managed us, and Spurs, we had a really defined style. You knew we were a Poch team, and you knew what that would look like. I don’t see that identity (yet) with Chelsea at all.
I said it at the time that I didn’t think he would do well at the larger clubs because of that exact reason. Us and Spurs were full of players who bought in as they could see what he was doing and how it would elevate their careers. Players at Chelsea and PSG have already “made” it so I doubt would be as willing to really buy in to his fitness regimes and press as they didn’t have to before to get to the top. The obvious answer is you give Poch more control and let him sign some nobodies who he can mould into top players, but again top clubs need that star quality in the team so wouldn’t let him do that
Where's those people who argued after Gillingham that there's no point being upset about going out of the cup as we'd get no where near the final anyway? Middlesbrough say hi.
Middlesbrough will most likely lose at Stamford Bridge by more than a goal. Besides they're not in the running for automatic promotion which is easily more important to us.
They likely will but surely you're not suggesting that a team with a semi final lead is nowhere near the final? Fact remains people were posting as if there was no chance of us progressing beyond the 4th round and Boro have shown that was quite clearly horseshit.
I'm not and not suggesting there was no chance for us either. But I do think Martin was right to make it the least important competition of the 3. I'm glad he put out a strong team v Walsall as I believe the FA Cup should always be treated with respect.
@Libby if you've bought a ticket for the replay next week then you can get a ticket for the Utd game in the second phase of sales (if they get through of course ) https://www.eastleighfc.com/news-provisional-ticketing-plans-for-fa-cup-fourth-round/
