Stating the obvious but winning the playoffs gives you the greatest single moment, but likely means you’ve had less wins to celebrate throughout the season compared to winning automatic promotion. I suppose ideal scenario in that case is that we win loads of games but lose out on the second auto spot to Ipswich with a record number of points for third place. And then we go on to beat Leeds in the playoff final.
True. If that happened we'd have to another season in the championship with no VAR and a couple of games against Pompey. That'd be a shame.
Your heart and body is at least 20 years younger than mine and a lot more than some on here. Boring is just fine
My old ticker doesn't need the tenterhooks of playoffs, our promotion achieved two or three games before the end of season suits me just fine.
Taken from another board. Championship wage bills. Shows just how incredible a job the Ipswich manager is doing and why anything less than a record points total is a failure for Leicester.
Also shows that if any of the relegated sides don’t go back up this season they will have to slash the wage bill pretty considerably to be inline with other Champ teams I posted something similar a couple of months ago, from memory though us and Leeds were around £50m and Leicester about £55m. Remember the 4th team being about half that which just shows if ever there were a season for teams to be walking it it would be this one
Worry not. If he helps us get promoted, his wages will be affordable. If we don't go up, he'll surely take a bit of a wage cut to come back here permanently.
He will still have 1 year remaining on his Newcastle contract at the end of this season. If we want him beyond this loan then we will have to pay, although I should imagine he'd be pretty cheap.
Like us next year Joking aside, Even though he is loving it here, scoring goals and making a difference, if we don't go up, then I can seem going to a premier league club next year. He will have proved to them he is still good after a good season with us.
Most important thing is that we get the right result of course but the other fixtures to look out for this weekend are: Coventry v Leicester Cardiff v Leeds Ipswich v Sunderland Should all be competitive games. Still expect all 3 to win, but definitely not a given!
