they tried their best with klopp at Shrewsbury and all of that. it only takes the right tie for the media to start at it.
two massive ties have come out. chavs v villa spurs v City. we have the romance tie for man utd as well. those are massive massive clashes for the 4th round of fa cup.
Has any club ever finished on a negative number of points in any league because of points deducted? Let's use a completely hypothetical club, Chanmester City, in this completely hypothetical scenario, imagine they face 151 violations and are, for some bizarre reason docked 10 points per violation (rather than straight relegation). It's theoretically possible that they are found guilty of 10 or more of those violations and get over 100 points deducted and finish the season on negative points. Now, of course 1,510 points of violation is never going to happen... but 20 points would be enough to doom some of the worst teams in top flight history to a negative score and surely somewhere in the world some team has been bad enough (both bad in performance, and bad in misbehaving) to have finished on negative points somewhere.
I think the closest might be Luton, who had a 30 point deduction that relegated them, when there has been a points deduction. They finished with 26pts Actually 3 other clubs were docked pts that season in L2. Rotherham, Bournemouth and Darlington. I think in most cases of deductions (in England at least) most clubs have either had enough points or been able to make up as not to finish on 0 or lower.
Both wanted to support Man Utd and both literally got kicked out the house, their mother let them back in. Told them they can support whoever they want so long as it's not Man Utd or Chelsea
Full fa cup draw. Watford v Southampton Blackburn Rovers v Wrexham Bournemouth v Swansea City West Brom v Brentford or Wolves West Ham or Bristol City v Nottingham Forest or Blackpool Leicester City v Hull City or Birmingham City Sheffield Wednesday v Coventry City Chelsea v Aston Villa Ipswich Town v Maidstone United Liverpool v Norwich City or Bristol Rovers Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City Leeds United v Plymouth Argyle Crystal Palace or Everton v Luton Town or Bolton Wanderers Newport County or Eastleigh v Manchester United Sheffield United v Brighton & Hove Albion Fulham v Newcastle United Quite uninspiring with many ties being from the same division. The man utd away tie and our tie stand out as the romance of the cup alongside Maidstone going to hear about tractors.
Derby finished on 11 points one year without a points deduction of any kind. Which is lower than Luton above with their 30 point deduction. I guess being relegate outright (rather than being punished bad enough to end on negative points) is a softer punishment. A points deduction hard enough to end you end in the negative means a minimum of two seasons to get back where you were... As opposed to just one season if you just get relegated.
