In all seriousness, if as rumours suggest he is still essentially lending a hand, I’m more than happy if we signed a different CB out of the blue, especially if it’s from Serie A. The success we’ve had from that league the last couple years has been ridiculous. Chalk and cheese from what we’ve had from Ligue 1 and pretty much elsewhere.
Werner Watch I was more suggesting the 18 month loan with a €5m loan fee and the €20m coming sometime down the road, which is what we did with Porro this time (okay, give it another 2-3 weeks...) last year
Too bloody long Either Ange really didn’t fancy Phillips so he wouldn’t have played him anyway or new CB is coming this way. For once, I’m feeling positive that we will see a new CB signed in time for the weekend.
It's more likely that Phillips (or, more likely still, Phillips' agent) wanted playing time, and a loan is the only way that's going to be guaranteed This is less likely to be the case with Dorrington given he's come up through our youth ranks, while Phillips has technically dropped down to our youth ranks from the fringes of Blackburn's first team Don't suppose anyone's watched Plymouth this season so they can say if they're a good fit?
I looked at the replies under Argyle’s announcement tweet and it looks like they’re having some issues at CB, not sure if form or fitness. But hopefully it seems like he’ll get game time.
Well we reached the point of a transfer window where I wish the phrase "X has blood on their hands" would leave the vocabulary of dickhead football fans everywhere, especially the ones on Twitter and Reddit There's only one club owner in the Premier League with blood on their hands, and it sure as hell isn't Levy because he didn't buy Alessandro Bastoni (who, coincidentally, is still at Inter eighteen months and two transfer windows later)
Emerson and van de Ven I’d imagine. Latter was on the bench vs Burnley and will have had a further 8 or so days worth of training by the time we face Utd. Likely gonna be a bit rusty though.
