Someone posted on here this week that they thought Ipswich would fade towards the end of the season. I think that this is a fair assessment although I am not so confident that 2nd place will be so easy to achieve. If I am honest, it will godown to the wire and the final game against Leeds will prove to be defining. We need to be 4 points clear of them by this point if we are to go up automatically. I would not like promotion to rest on the last game of the season. For me, I think Leeds are the team to worry about, not Ipswich.
I don’t think anyone would want auto promotion to rest on a final game tie away to Leeds. Anyone who does is an interesting individual!
Imagine if Ipswich were in the mix too. Winner takes all scenario between us and Leeds, but with Ipswich sitting in 4th and able to overtake both of us if our game was drawn.
My ideal scenario is us out of it but Leeds still with a chance. We beat Leeds to help Ipswich gain promotion and put Leeds in play offs. We then beat Sunderland over two legs to set up a play off final with Leeds at Wembley.
My ideal scenario is that we secure automatic promotion in one of the top two spots. Most likely second based on the gap
My ideal scenario is that all the championship teams are found to have broken FA rules and we are promoted today
My ideal scenario is that all the clubs in the top two divisions are found to have broken the rules and we are awarded the Premier League title today.
