I see arteta has piled more pressure on his failing forwards.

Just by calling it psychological and then saying everyone needs to put arms round them he's just put it on them, the same as saying twice that the last game v fulham on a horrid wet night on a pokey ground "wasn't good enough"

this is really physiology 101. He's putting more pressure on his little lambs than anyone and they are cracking.

By contrast klopp is constantly deflecting pressure by making it about the whole group or saying he's really happy with the awful nunez misses etc etc. Klopp never puts it on the player. They just won't play or be there long if he's not happy.

Pep sometimes plays these games with star players in the media as well.

Arsenal were actually the better side for most of that game, more in control, they made it really really hard for us to play through and controlled the ball but they were afraid imo. another game one goes in and they settle down but thats not the game that happened.

They've no game now until the early kick off v palace on the 20th. It'll be interesting to see what happens there. they then have another big gap until forest.

I'm sure a sun holiday will suit them.

We play Wednesday then have our break and i hope some players get a little holiday as well.

We have Bournemouth, fulham, FA cup 4th round and Chelsea in quick order before we meet this lot again.

I really hope we get a good FA cup draw this time at home so a few more squaddies can start.

February looks fairly light for us after arsenal so here's hoping

I am not sure the ironically named White needs a sun holiday. He looked like a lankey umpah lumpah yesterday

That guy is one of the biggest muppets going.

He decided that being part of the england squad was too much of a hassle at the world cup.

What actually happened is he took offense at being told what to do by an England coach (actually read his stats and know what would be talked about in meetings) and had a bust up in front of everyone and refused to apologise.

He made up bullshit about being unhappy and england brushed it under the carpet with personal reaosns and asking the media to respect the players privacy so they could focus on games.

Southgate as deliberately excluded him since using the excuse he's a **** right back just like trent and he's got loads of **** right fulls already.

White should be begging to play for england to pick up the gongs that might fall thier way if bellingham carried them.

He should be dying to play cb for england. Maguire, Stones, tomori, Guehi, dunk, colwill and konsa are his rivals and to be quite frank if he minded his manners he would probably be first choice given he plays for arsenal for RCB while stone sin injured.

Aside from that the state of him is indeed hilarious.

I genuinely don’t think this break will help us

we never return from breaks firing on cylinders that I can remember

although it may aid us towards end of season ?

Its not that long. its actually only 11 days.

the last time vvd got sick during it so yeah, travel is not all its cracked up to be lol.

This time round we have players already injured that it helps us with.

    Szoboszlai is one for sure
Thaigo may be closer and could be targeting first team training after this
VVD might be back wednsday but certainly after that
Robertson is going to have a couple less games missed.

Add in giving gomez a little rest now and keeping him right for the games until he can go to RB and trent can move to CM. ideal.

Lets be positive that is not going to ruin momentum

    10th Jan Fulham (h)
    21st Jan Bournemouth (a)
    24th Jan Fulham (a)
29th Jan FA cup 4th round.
    31st Jan Chavs (h)
    4th Feb Le'Arse (a)

thats well busy enough for me that an 11 day little break won't go astray. I'd give the players 5 days after weds and have them back for a weeks training for the bournemouth away day. Once we play arsenal again we get a little period of one game a week to get in shape for the next busy period

    10th feb Burnley (h)
    17th Feb Brentford (a)
24th Feb Luton (h) (would have been moved for last 16 anyway but possibly off if we get to final of league cup)

this it gets really busy again

28th Feb FA cup 5th round (f if we get there)
    2nd Mar Forest (a)
    7th March Europa last 16
9th Mar City (h) (will be moved to sunday)
    14th March Europa last 16
17th March Everton (a) (possibly moved if we reach the fa cup QF for this weekend lol)
    INTER ****ING NATIONALS

it goes on and on from there.

It really feels like a totally different team to last season even when it is pretty much the same players .

Enjoyable game made more so by the result. While Mo is away I'd like to see us playing Nunez wide left, Diaz wide right and Jota in the middle. Made all the difference when Jota came on and gave Diaz the opportunity to roam and score. Shout out to the two youngsters who had a real impact as well. Martinelli gave up trying to get past Bradley and Clark with a brilliant tactical foul. We've got some top talent coming through.

Big difference this season is the energy in midfield. No disrespect to Fab, who four years ago was the best no 6 in Europe, IMO, but the toils of the season before when we went for 4 trophies, (and the season before that when we ludicrously wore him out at CB rather than change formation to accommodate the CBs we had available), but his legs had gone. Hendo too in the sense that his days as a box-to-box no 8 are well gone, tremendous middle-distance runner though he has been. Szobbo did that, and even though he's been off the boil since the November international break he seems to have invigorated Jones and Elliott, especially, to up the pace of their game. We're actually getting back to the earlier years of Klopp's reign, IMO.

Spot on.....Hendo and Fab looked worn out,Naby and Ox rarely available,Milner at 36/37......throw in an injury crisis and we were ****ed

The midfield rebuild needed to be rapid,we look well stocked and well balanced now with a much lower average age.

but it did allow us to see jones develop slightly. he's now closer to first team than elliott. when everyone is available its going to be interesting to see what klopp does with his 11.

Jones was also excellent towards the back end of last season. If only the guy can keep a consistent run of fitness, who knows where his ceiling is?

Don't ask me how I stumbled upon it because I've taken very little interest since they left but I read yesterday that Fabinho isn't too happy either atm having been placed as CB by whatever team he plays for now. Frustration maybe boiling over and he was red carded in his last game for hitting someone in the face.

Henderson be better off doing his 2 years, take the tax free cash and then either retiring or going off to America for a season rather than coming back to prem. only going to be bit part player in prem, won’t be in England squad after this summer

we don't know what his wage is but he can spend no more than 90 days in the UK including England duty before April 25 or he is liable for tax here on every penny earned.

Hendo was a great captain for a long time. I don't want him back. Sorry Jordan, look elsewhere.

When Curtis first appeared on the scene he looked so promising, "he could be really special after a few years experience", but then he seemed to plateau and not develop any more for a season or two and I began to feel like he was never going to be more than a bit-part player. Until the end of last season he finally exploded into form, and so far this season he has really developed into an important player. With Szob, Mac, Graven, Endo, all doing well, it's a hard midfield to stand-out in... but Curtis is holding his own with all those players nicely. Curtis could have an important role to play for a long time

I'm only guessing, but I think part of Hendo's problem is not understanding his own mortality. He saw his arse because he wasn't an automatic starter for us - not seeming to realise that he wasn't the player he used to be. I imagine he still thinks he's PL ready - well maybe, but further down the league than previously.

Yeah, but I can't see him playing for United or Chelsea. He has more pride and dignity than to sell his soul that badly.
