can we? Given it’s a year without CL, I’d have thought that we’d be quite limited, given what we spent in the summer - I guess we’ll see soon.

it's that belief that it's there if you go for it that gives players an extra yard or male a tackle etc.

We've pulled some wins from draws because of exactly that too which has only solidified their belief and resolve.

Very optimistic for the 2nd half of the season

hopefully so. it'll be tough but if we can turn in some grinning wins in the top half clashes to go with a continued top record against the bottom half clubs then we will be up there for the run in.

How he got away with literally screaming in the ref's face (the same ref that booked Diaz for dissent literally 5 minutes before) is beyond me. At least he didn't get away with playing volleyball in his own box this time though. :emoticon-0145-shake

I thought Shearer was on the verge of a meltdown when Arsenal didn't score in that first 30 minutes.

Watching the highlights again Arsenal only had one clear cut chance one on one with the keeper in the first 3 minutes,

the one with the extra touch should have been scored too.

but they ignored our chances such that they were first half.

it could have been 3-2 I suppose but really a few of arsneals were second and third phase chances they also failed to put in so the 5-0 rubbish was just that.

I think the game will pan out similarly because the pattern has been similar in the last few games vs Arsenal. They always start with an aggressive press. The difference today is that we somehow survived it.

recently diaz has been enabled to roam. I don't think he is used to it at all based on his country and old club it I think he's enjoying it.

Enjoyed that, away at the emirates with a few players out etc we were always going to be under it a bit and have to ride out the storm.

Came out second half with real intent and were in a real game, credit to Klopp for the changes on 75- I bet Arsenal fans were licking their lips at that point but those 2 put in a great show.

As has been said above, we actually defended well and this ‘should be 4 or 5’ first half was bollox. They did outplay us for 45 but was hardly peppering the goal.

Think this 4/5 -0 thing is just because when they hit the bar they had couple chances to score 1 before and 1 after each shot. So looks like they could have scored 3, but if any 1 of them has gone in then obviously the other 2 chances wouldn't have happened or gone in so all a bit stupid.

No surprise shearer was backing arsenal after we demolished his beloved Newcastle thanks to two pens that he’d have been screaming for if had gone the other way

le'arse are a proper good team but they've made bad errors in the market and have blown this season.

    simple as that.

zinchenko and Jesus were missed today.

jorginho for example. a terribly buy day 1 and still a terrible buy. they've never missed him when out.

I still say I don't rate White as a full back at all. he was largely no existent as a threat there tonight. odengaard and saka were creating a.massive overlap on gomez amd quansah and white was really only good for the odd throw lol.

but havertz? what an absolutely stupid buy when you've got a ffp constraint. (same for mount btw)

the second they bought him I said it was stupid, it really looks bad tonight. he is just not a striker no matter how many clubs play him as such.

he could be an 8 like klopp has made Szoboszlai into.
he went for the money to chavland and now he's on a bad path for confidence etc.

I was surprised to see Alison between the sticks. After we kept a clean sheet, I knew why.
