If we sell Summerville in the summer I'd be more than happy to see Mason-Clarke come to Leeds as a replacement.
Thought this was going to be a real tough game but turned out to be quite comfortable. Love the Bar codes now at ER.
Klaesson - 6. Really assertive coming for high balls. Decent with his feet and if the short pass isn't on can pick a long pass too. Had a couple of dodgy moments but I'd like to see him get a run of games to see if he settles in. Shackleton - 7. Long time out and had Mason-Clark to deal with. Did fairly well throughout. Rodon - 8. Never troubled. Solid again. Sign him up. Ampadu - 9. Never troubled and helped himself to two well taken goals. Firpo - 6. Possibly should have put us in front early on but opted to pass instead. Otherwise he was free to roam the left wing pretty much unopposed. Neat and tidy for the most part but had a couple of sloppy moments too. Gray - 7. Should have scored 3 minutes in. Otherwise a very very good performance. Him and Ampadu together in midfield would be our best midfield. Gruev - 7. Did what he had to do. Gets better with every game after a quiet start to his career at Leeds. Just quietly got on with things. Gnonto - 6. Flattered to deceive. Spent more time moaning at the ref than contributing. Possibly should have had a penalty 1st half. Piroe - 6. Neat and tidy for the most part but should have done better with a couple of half chances and lost the ball too much. Not the creative player we need at 10. Anthony - 6. Huffed and puffed but never really blew the house down. Bamford - 8. Assist and a goal of the season contender. Hold up play was good too. Looks full of confidence for the moment but clearly not 90 minutes fit yet. Subs. Ayling - 6. Got 15 minutes to make an impact. Got forward well enough but never truly threatened. His farewell performance? James - n/a. Another assist from a corner. Having a great season. Poveda - n/a. Looked lively against Poshs tired defenders. Kamara - n/a. Nothing of note. Joseph - n/a. Failed to lay on a goal for Poveda as he fluffed his lines on a 2 vs 1 break.
If Bamfords goal isn’t the goal of the season at least in the FA Cup, then there isn’t any justice in the world. Just watched it back again and what a feckin goal that was.. amazing what happens to him when he has confidence.. different player entirely
