The spuds won again last night, 2 - 0 v villa. I'm starting to come to the conclusion that it's Arsenal and Chelsea we have to beat to 4th spot now. The spuds are looking a bit good.
Played well last night against what was admittedly a pretty woeful effort from Villa. Their weakness will be how they cope with European and League footy if they get to later stages, how they cope with King out for long periods 2nd half of the season, and how they deal with 'arry if he gets offered the England job or gets sent down. At the moment having played the Spuds, the Chavs and the Goons all away from home it's safe to say Spurs were by far and away the most impressive.
welll.... now guys spurs got their heads handed to them as well this year. I watched it and villa were pretty dire on the night as well... and the second goal was shockingly poor. Spurs played well don't get me wrong, i think its way too early to think about them having a lock on 3rd just cos they have a game or two in hand now. they look good so lets see what happens next
They were doing well this time last year though and we were doing terribly. A good run from us and a bit of poor form from them towards the end of last season and we were within touching distance of fourth. As it stands, I think Spurs are playing very well and are at the top of their game, but will they keep this form? As for us, we're in the mix on 22 points and have still yet to be really convincing and hit top form - it bodes well for when we do really start to get going and taking all our chances.
we can only hope the gelling of players combined with kenny'd reocrd of teams finishing strong will mean we come good when it matters while others fall away. I can't wait to hear the arsenal fans crowing then see them implode again in faburary for example... spurs will have to decide whether another seaosn of no trophies and 4th is good enough or do they go for the europa league. we'll see.
that is certainly as inevitable as night following day..... rain will fall, people will die and rvp will get injured.
Not much left to say! It's still way too early to count anybody either in or out of the race for the top spots - even City and United. Spurs are palying well at the moment as are City but we all know that there will be a point in the season were the form dips and/or luck goes against you. United fans will say that they can play better. Only time will tell if what they are presently producing will be the best that they can achieve this season. Arsenal have the VP dilema. Chelsea still don't appear to be taking their Sonatogen and who knows what Newcastle will actually achieve. As we approach the new year, both we and Newcastle start to gain from a strategic advantage - fixture congestion. This, I believe will have serious implications for all of our competitiors.
I just hope that we have a good December, looking at those games there are several possibilities that we can slip up. But if we get our act together it could be a good month. But every time I've had a negative perspective on things we have done well...so I'm going for only 2 wins in Dec.
Their deluded fan's seem to think they have third rapped up already, they are playing well at the moment but maybe Modric will want to leave again in Jan and they don't have a big squad so a few injuries could kill them. Anyway this time next season Harry will be either locked up and getting bummed in the shower's or he will be the England manager and Spuds will be back where they belong which is below us.
The amount of attacking talent they have is impressive. Bale, VDV, Modric would be in any of the teams in the league plus with Adebayor and the pace of lennon they must be 2nd best team going forward in the country (to Man City). Just have to see if their defence holds out but Scott Parker has helped them alot there, on current form he has to be the best defensive midfielder in the league. Hope they pick up a few injuries
They will pick up injuries but so will we so I guess we'll see who deals best with them. A the moment they are at full strength and we are not (Gerrard coming back will be a massive bonus and hopefully add to our goals from midfield areas and further increase chances we create). One player at the Spuds who has really impressed me so far is Kyle Walker he's really developed and his loan spell at another prem club last season has obviously helped him out no end. As I stated above the Ledley King scenario could haunt Spurs in the long term, Adebayor looks content at the moment but I wonder how long Defoe will hang around without regular starts (especially as it's put him well down the pecking order for an England place) and the sooner Gomez gets back between the sticks the better for the rest of us
So far they've played all the top few at home (Arsenal, us, City) apart from United. We've played them all away, apart from United. When they play those teams away, they may drop points.
