Got pelters yesterday for saying this was shambolic. If that’s the best they can organise then don’t bother it’s a waste of time. At least spend the money on a tifo or something that people will take note of

Hes also done well against pacey wingers in the championship. Gordon is a quality player who is on the fringes of the England squad

 

I thought it was excellent

 

I do have to laugh at some comments, were people really expecting us to go toe to toe with them and be able to sustain it for the full 90? I was disappointed with some of the tactical decisions and with a couple of individual performances but at the end of the day if we had just been beaten 3-0 by Chelsea would people be calling players bottlers? Doubt it.

End of the day, we were beaten by the better team. Their quality was even clear in the warm up - there’s no shame in that. Tactically, however, we were set up as though it was another championship game. It was very naive from us and it showed from minute 1. We need to be a lot smarter, as I genuinely feel we could have given them more of a game today.

 

Nair mate. not stupid at all. You pay for the match day experience. I once went for a walk around the players car park just for a look at the motors , ended up chatting to and ended up pally with Anton Ferdinand they're just lads at the end of the day. All part of the match day experience as I said.

 

Nothing to grow up about. As I said earlier 2 players could walk off that pitch knowing they’d give it their all today and that’s O’nien and Pritchard. Rusyn done well too. Rest were shocking.

 

Some people have a blind spot with the Saudis. Call it tribal, call it parochial, but some would never be happy unless we beat them 10-0. They (understandingly) were the better team today. That happens in football. There's no shame in it.

 

I'm North mate, haven't been for a while.
Usually between me and the lad, one of us are working.
My shifts don't help, finished 12hr nights this morning at 7 so it was a no go.
Had a couple of hours kip and watched it, bloody knackered.

I've had some bad luck over the years.
I used to go a lot in me 20's . Bought a newer and more mpg friendly car especially to travel up once. Some fooker wrote it off on the A1 near knaresborough first game of a season against Derby FFS

Another time I drove all the way up with the lad and walking to the ground the fans were heading home. Fooking game was cancelled
Drove arl the way back


Caught a few away games last few years. Soaked at Accrington ffs
Youngest daughter and lad came.
Tranmere was nearby. Etc.

I'd love to live up there and work mon to sat so I could just stroll to the home games

Lads just starting a new job next week training then will be on every other Saturday. You can nap we'll work alternative Saturdays FFS .

Shocking in terms of effort or ability?

 

Think the issue is everything they have tried to arrange seems to get knocked back on safety grounds. Didn't they have a long running battle with the club over this and that’s why we ended up with the plastic cards? Seems like someone has been making it difficult to do displays even though every other club does it.

I'm sure they would love to sort a massive flag out etc.

I've never played competitive football for over 30 years or took a warm up for even longer. I suppose it makes a daft old bugger like me feel part of it

 

Only if we're honest about the shortcomings and where players need to improve.

Yep. I'll be disappointed and angry if the Ipswich or Hull games follow a similar pattern to today but expecting to go toe to toe with a top half PL side is crazy. Yes shocks and upsets happen, we've been on both sides of them, but they require everything going your way and that didn't happen today, and that is perfectly normal.

 

Why no mate. Its all part of the day, some like to arrive 10 minutes after the kickoff,go to the bar 15 minutes before half time, get back ten minutes into the 2nd half then leave 10 minutes early.lol

 

Was there any bother today? Haven't heard anything and it seems it was the easiest overtime a coppers ever had.
