There were no half arsed attitudes today. We had a group of lads giving their best, but up against a better side. If you think today's result was due to a lack of effort then I think football isn't for you.

It seems Farnboro and Roger has done the same.

Players aren't robots mate. Those two lads are still young and playing in possibly the most high profile game they've ever played. This will have been a huge learning experience for them and they'll come out of it better players. There's a bigger picture to look at.

That's what was aimed for at the start of the season and we didn't spend hundreds of millions of pounds to get there but thanks for the good wishes

I have heard all those reasons before and all are valid but don't really wash with me. People are free to come and go as they please, just as I am free to hold my opinion of them.
I always go into the ground an hour before to watch the warm up and win lose or draw stay until the last player leaves the pitch, that's my choice and I am sure that people think I am stupid for doing it but I enjoy it.

Don’t think the lads let the fans down; they give a lot. I do think they let them selves down though. They’re aspiring to be premier league footballers and nearly none of them turned up and showed what they can do. They’ll learn, they’ll get better but that was a lesson for them for how much they need to improve to make premier league level. We have to suffer for today but need to move on and get back to the promotion chase

If we'd had kept it 0-1 for the first 10mins of the second half I reckon they would have got a a bit twitchy then who knows. Strangely, I think this will do our squad more good than theirs in the long run

That's a really good post imo. Totally agree.
Massive doubts the new head coach will assist their development or the clubs but we will have to wait and see.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they let themselves down. Some may feel they could have performed better. But I do agree that this will have been an important game for their development.

Because it gives them an idea of the level they need to get to in order to be competitive in the league above.

There may be a good news story out of all this. Bear with me, but some PL scouts looking at how easily Jack Clarke was shut out of the game today might just be thinking twice about his suitability for a January transfer.
