Hull City boss Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside: "We are still in the hat. We're disappointed not to win but delighted with a lot of individual performances, some players really grasped the opportunity. "Matty Jacob was outstanding. He's going to play more games if he plays like that. He was fearless. Some took their opportunity and some didn't. I learned a lot. "I felt we were by far the better team. We create opportunities and have one v one moments and arrive in the box but we need to be more ruthless. Maybe I am putting pressure on myself but we need to be a top-six team. "This club gave me an unbelievable memory of my life where we went on a cup run and I'd rather be in a cup, you deal with the games that you play. Fortunately, because of the performances of Andy Smith and Harry Vaughan, and Matty Jacob, I know I can rely on those younger players." Birmingham City interim boss Steve Spooner told BBC WM: "It's very disappointing to concede at any time but when you are that near to the finishing post it's not a nice way to draw. "I feel particularly sorry for the players because they have given absolutely everything. They have listened to what we have asked of them tactically and have applied the game plan excellently. The players showed immense character. "We might have been 2-0 up in the first half and that looks a very different game. I'm encouraged and buoyed by the level of commitment and how resolute, determined and resilient we looked. It was a very pleasing performance. "The defensive unit looked very good. I thought we were going to get over the line but it wasn't to be. "It's been tough this week, but it's been enjoyable. If the new manager is in Monday, that's great, if he's not we'll look after the players again, pick up where we left off and carry on working."
Aye - 2 pens in 3 minutes anarl ! Hell of a start: Wed. score after 2 min, Cardiff missed pens in 4th and 7th mins.
Thought Lokilo, and Allahyar both looked poor, though both with comments and motm split fan base, Twine when he came off - I wasn't sure what position he'd played, but that might a / the problem itself. Allsop his passing makes a difference, but (being behind goal today) his reaction time seems half a second too slow. Well done to the substitutes, and substition, just in time. Felt 'dirty' clapping Sharpe, but he looks the difference we may need
Everything going for the Wendies at the moment it seems. Never easy taking a penalty with a million opposition fans willing you to miss I suppose
He's an imposing figure with an old head on his shoulders and bags of experience at this level. He'll come in handy but I would imagine he'll be limited to cameo roles? He could however be priceless in educating players as to how and where they should be playing/positioning themselves when we attack(Connolly for example is still raw but could come on leaps and bounds under Sharps wing)...Asset,absolutely.
****s of the day, two fans just along from me in E10 having a row over swearing. FFS lads grow up. Hate seeing ****e like that between City fans. Didn't hang around to see if one got "put to sleep" on the way out but I suspect not
I remember being in the West Stand some years ago(never been in it since) and some tit took offence at me calling some or other player or ref a useless cnut.He turned round and said he was going to get a steward as he wasn't there to listen to bad language... I told him to **** off and get a steward or **** off to the library.
I was surprised to see it become such an issue to someone in the East Stand of all places I must admit. Must be going soft with all the "hardcore" moving to North now
Sharp's positioning and link up play in his cameo today is exactly why we brought him in. Shame we have him at his tail end because you can tell the quality was there the minute he came on
