Hard to believe that our last win in the cup was the Wolves semi-final - shows just how far we've dropped...
Chesterfield can go home with their heads held high, a draw would have been fair. Second half turned out to be a good cup tie, good attacking by us and great defensive work by Chesterfield. We made hard work of it with our first half display. Phew!
Think we’re too complacent at times trying to pass it around too much under pressure. Rajovic did his usual ! Think the new lad got an assist too.
Not sure why as football fans we put ourselves through all this. If Watford were pushing things a bit late, that was nothing compared to Chateauroux who also were in a cup game against a lower league side. It was the 96th minute when they scored an equalizer, 2-2, and went on to win the penalty shoot out 4-3. No extra time or replays here.
According to the overall stats we should have won comfortably if we had taken our chances, story of our season this year and last, but we did enough to win through, they can now make sure they finish the main thing for them and get back to the EFL Our two young Columbians setup the goals for us and Deli-Bashiri must play in midfield and Never in defence
The Tranmere game wasn't great but Man U away is always going to be tough and basically played the kids at Reading last year. Seems to be a theme with us which even the manager has noticed. We perform better in the 2nd half. TBB certainly made a difference in midfield and we will always have that threat out wide. Suppose that is more ideal than not at all!
Having watched the highlights again for our winner Rajovic did what we have accused him of not doing in the past, chased the ball down, took it forward beat two defenders, held on for others and did good pass to set up the attack, if he can do that all the time he may be good for us long term after all
