Worse miss by Smallbone. Mara getting in the right positions, just can’t quite get the right ball or finish. Charly needs to stop trying to be too clever with the Marseille turns and nutmegs etc. Get the job done first.
Standard first half for Saints. Start well. Lots of possession. Miss chances. Then give the opposition a chance to get into the game. Please bring on Adams second half.
Quite a frustrating half. Need to be more ruthless. Would be the smash and grab of all smash and grabs if they equalised, but it could happen. Charly trying to be a bit too clever, SAA decision making iffy. I mean it’s fine, but Fraser is so head and shoulders over everyone else because he’s really taking it seriously. I was amused by the commentator saying “Stephens has been in imperious form in recent matches”. Guessing because that’s because he’s hardly played?!
We can score at any minute. There is no problem cutting through the defence. Fraser’s final ball is next level. The fringe players are trying too hard and the regulars are doing ok. Poor from Charly at times, though. Thought he would dominate.
