You do realise your owner had someone hacked to death in a foreign hotel a few years back, attempted to marry an 11 year old and oversees women being stoned to death.
Looking forward to seeing your amnesty report on Kyril Dreyfus. And you personally are part of the problem

Maybe Beale escapes criticism too easily today because odds were against us, but it looked too easy for them despite the gulf in class .

Yeah ideally he'd be able to match anyone for pace but a RB with a footballing brain who makes good decisions consistently doesn't need to be rapid. I think Hume's well capable of becoming that player given his age and lack of experience.

Waste of time showing up then. Luton and others have made them look ordinary. We didn't even attempt to disrupt them

Losing to them in the past used to hurt. This doesnt. As will the majority of derbys (if any) in the future won't. They will always stink of Safc v Saudi. Shame, really. Their club has become a beacon of everything that is wrong with football, and then some. Football has steadily sold it soul for decades, but these lot take the biscuit. If i was a town fan I dont think id enjoy the triumphs with that fact niggling in the back of my brain. Much happier supporting SAFC, no matter how successful they become.

I think some are being a bit harsh. Yes Newcastle were the better side but what else could be expected given the cost of the teams. FFS there were at least 4 players that I remember played at Wembley against us when we were both in L1 <yikes>.

Comfortable win for Newcastle, my ass :steam:. They had to fight all the way and had to rely on 1 own goal, a present and a penalty. For me the GK was at fault for the second goal. Never, and I repeat this at every match I watch, never pass the ball out to a defender who is facing the GK and has a striker right up their back side. That goal gave Newcastle a comfortable feeling. But the lads did not give up and had 2 good attempts that could easily have got them back in it. Plus there was almost an own goal by Newcastle. It was a typical David v Goliath and with a bit of luck, no bad luck and had the GK cleared the ball rather than putting the defender in trouble, it would have been much closer goal-wise.

I don't think the players left much on the pitch which is all one can ask for in the circumstances. Ballard conceded an own goal which in many instances would have gone over the bar and praised as great defensive play (unlike the other end where a the GKs foot luckily prevented an own goal). The penalty was a bit stupid but apart from that I thought Ballard was immense in defence and could have been MOTM but for those 2 goals. Pritchard is such an intelligent player and deserved a goal. Luke was also excellent. There was another player who turned their defence inside out late on but I didn't catch his name (young black lad). Clark wasn't as dangerous as I had hoped and he needs to learn to pass, I think

I would not be disheartened by that performance

Back to the league and a fight for the play offs

    Ba,
Pretty much my feelings too as per my earlier post.

Been gutted in the past when we've lost in the same league.
    demanding a win.
Just disappointed now but taking positives from the game.

Thing is Clarke won't really be looked at on today's performance, if he'd been playing for the mags today he would have had as much time and space as Gordon did and would probably have looked world class

I was just thinking about this. Doesn't really bother me there's no soul to it and it's purely a numbers game until our spending reaches at least a double figure percentage of theirs I couldn't give a ****.

Not surprised by the result, the gulf in quality is massive. Madness playing it out from the back with their high press but not sure if we have any other way to play!

Dan Neil and Pritchard head and shoulders out best players, Neil is the one I am most worried about being sold as nailed on we will get some bids for him.

Ba done well on the right, it’s the only place he should play for us, Clarke was pretty poor and it’s obvious he’s not ready to step up to the premier league. He just needs to improve his decision making and learn when to pass the ball rather then beat a man.

That is what £400M gets you
Disappointed we didn't lay a glove on them but it just shows the difference between the top half of the Premier league and the top half of the championship.
We need to use this as a learning exercise for the, more important, rest of the season.
    Onwards and upwards.
We've come a long way, but there's still a long way to go.

Luton made us look pathetic at Kenilworth. They have experienced, big players in their team and play a certain way. We don't have that unfortunately. I looked at that mags line up before kick off and knew we'd get beat.

Ballard was our best player. He never give Isak a kick all game. Won everything that come into the box.

Got a long way to got for them to repeat all the away 3-0s we've had and the 6 in a row and the 9 unbeaten. This was a champions League side against a championship side, I expected a defeat but if it was the other way around then I'd expect a more than 3 goals such was the difference in the quality. They were frightened before the match hence the full team

Your question implies you think there was no alternative. If so try reading my pre match post, you might not agree but there was one, and its unlikely they would have had it so easy just my opinion of course.
