It will be Norwich's first game of the FA Cup this season as Championship and Premier League clubs have been added to the mix. The Opposition Bristol Rovers have scored 11 goals in their two FA Cup games this season to date. A 7-2 win against Whitby Town in the first round was followed by a 4-2 victory away at Crewe Alexandra last time out. In League One, they are currently 10th with nine wins, seven draws and eight defeats from their 24 games. One to Watch: Antony Evans Former England underage international Antony Evans has been a threat in the Bristol Rovers attack this season from his advanced midfield position. In 30 games across all competitions, he has scored eight and assisted six, with two goals and three assists of that tally coming in the first two rounds of the FA Cup. More to follow.
Nice thread Rick , very winnable home tie with a chance to experiment a bit with the team. I just hope Gunn plays Long doesn't fill me with confidence. You forgot to add poll but you can go back & edit
Poll added sir! Further research into the Rovers squad reveals that another one to watch is a certain 35 year old Chris Martin, who signed a short term contract last September and has scored 8 goals in 16 appearances in League One and the previous league and cup games.
In the case of a draw, there would be a replay in Bristol. Replays have been retained for the 3rd and 4th rounds, but not after that.
I’m hoping that we heavily rotate the side after a busy festive period. Interesting that several players appear to be missing from the training video above from what I can see - no Sara, McLean, Stacey, Duffy, Nunez and Hwang is away obviously.
From press conference today: "Everyone is available," Wagner said. "Dimi [Giannoulis] is back in training, I think there's a high possibility that he starts tomorrow, and a high possibility with Josh [Sargent] and Grant [Hanley], too. I think Lungi will get some minutes tomorrow, and then some further minutes with the Under-21s."
Looks like Springett & Placheta may feature today , Giannoulis back at left back Fisher right back & Sorensen looking to get minutes . I'm guessing Rowe McLean Sara will get rested . Handley & Sargent back . Well over due a decent performance at Carrow Road
Would have love to see Reyes in goal, I’m guessing he may be going out on loan as he isn’t on the bench
1-1 we managed to pass to the opposition 20 yards out after Long made the initial save, Then everyone could admire their finish
Some extraordinary refereeing? Nothing wrong with a challenge on halfway and yet Forshaw gets penalised, then Sargent clearly breaks and gets professionally fouled and nothing given
