Didn't VDV pull his in the game against vermin FC, after Romero got sent off ?? If so, perhaps the manager should lay this injuries at the feet of those players whose indiscipline +/- sloppiness cause their team-mates to exert excess effort when the team is a man down.
ESPN had Stuart Robson, although being ex them lot, was actually quite good (at least you don't get the whiny noise + disappointed tone when Spurs score that is Alan Smith) .
At least you’re free to post here, mate. We’re not like those nasty barcodes restricting your freedom.
In a way, UEFA land may have been a blessing, as there would have been 6 competitive games to work the squad as a whole (probably some of the academy boys would have been tested for real) .
Serie A is in financial trouble, so PL clubs should be able to cut good deals across the board without paying the usual silly money PL tax,
Over all, I didn’t actually think it was that bad last night. Although, I do think my expectations regarding performance and results have dropped somewhat since all the injuries. there was period where we played some nice intricate football, and the intent was there. But it’s the same old conversation regarding certain squad players who haven’t got the ability to execute what Ange is trying to implement. They’re just not quite good enough. whilst there’s obvious reinforcement’s we need very soon, there’s definitely certain players whose time is limited. They try, but soon enough we’ll be looking for upgrades, I’m sure. Vic, destiny and bentancur class… as always. Emerson not bad. Everyone else? Meh, but could have been worse. still, another win. Even if it was an ugly one. I’ll take more of those throughout January!
We may have also prepared for a very different Burnley. Kompany's side are generally very open and possession-based. Last night they parked the bus and were very well organised. That's something that we should expect, to be honest, but it may have had some impact. The various VAR interruptions that came to nothing were quite disruptive, too. Not sure where the officials got 1 minute in the first half, then 7 in the second, either. Very odd.
I saw that ,I like the way he blanked the Burnley player to carry on bollocking Sess , I love his commitment
He’s really been superb. It’s early doors of course but he’s looking on a par with Bentancur in terms of immediate quality impact, which is often quite rare, especially us the last 5-6 years.
He's telling him what he did wrong and that it's not good enough. That's exactly what he should do. Lloris slaughtered Son a while ago over something similar. He was right, too.
I remember when we beat Blackpool 1-0 away in round 3 in 91 we were **** and it took some magic from our magician we went on to win it As a few have said…a win is a win…I’ll take it…these matches aren’t supposed to be easy
What a poke from Porro, imagine the media whank fest if that goal was scored by TAA or Saka, it would be on constant repeat for the next fortnight.
Burnley are PL opposition, and as PNP said, they were not going to set up for a repeat of the 2-5. Bad decision-making + shooting in attack was the reason the game was not a comfortable win.
