According to Craig Hoop, the renowned Mag who doesn't dare name anyone at the club, he just refers to "Sunderland chiefs" because the fact that the owners didn't know doesn't sell copies.

This is a prime example of some elements of our fan base absolutely desperate to believe any negative stories about the club, regardless of the source.

 

Not sure what will be the best way for us to set up tomorrow. Since the draw and especially after the Leeds game was sure we’d have to go 5 at the back, leave no space for Gordon/Isak/Almiron and wait for our moments. Since the mags form has nose dived then It might be worth sticking with the same team as Preston, tough one and Roberts is a big miss for me against burn.

think I’d start 5 at the back and keep it tight as long as we can, worried about set pieces, were weak defending them and they have a few big lumps. Most important is we give a good account of ourselves, play the game, stick to the game plan and don’t let the atmosphere let us lose our way. The mags are definitely hurting and Howe is facing his first bit of pressure, we have to be at our best but this group makes me proud pretty much every week. Haway lads, I’ll go 2-1 to the lads. If my mind does think about it (mainly when I read it on here) I tell myself that we have wound them up by thinking that they had got away with it but then pulled the plug on them at the last minute. That way I can give myself a little chuckle and concentrate on the game, for which me and my clan can't wait

 

Lads I have a confession to make. I'm taking the grandson to the match tomorrow - he hasn't seen us win there yet and he's been to half a dozen games! He's been taken to that lot up the road and seen them win twice so I'm hoping that whatever kind of voodoo that happens when he's been up there rubs off and he sees his first win. He WILL be wearing a red and white top though. I'm apologising in advance and throwing myself on all your mercy and begging forgiveness in case we lose

 

That would be a lovely present for 2024.
