Basically monk has had mixed games Outstanding (Stoke) and lapsadasical (Norwich), Caulker is the better player as we seen at the start of the season so he is going to come back in just to allow monk a break so he doesnt damage his ankle anymore than he has and we have in monk someone who has showed that he can play in the prem as and when needed
i'd go with caulker, he's up and coming and monk is on the downward path, although monk is a tidy back up to have.
Sorry Guys monk is our skipper and caulker is a loan player end of, if caulker becomes a squad player then its a different story but until then loan players should be just that and if a squad player is fit and well then thats tough on caulker, He will play if someone gets injured and not because he takes place of a squad player who is fit and up to the job....he is a Loanee and not a squad player and will be used that way.....
Dai honestly being a loan player has sod all to do with it, it's purely on ability and performances, caulker will get his chance and will prove his worth IMO , and once he does it will be monk to make way for him. Others can see it on here, and anyone watching the game can see it. On a slightly different tack, we are coming up to the transfer window where I believe the club will bring players on loan, if they do come, using your logic we shouldn't play any of them as we don't own them. So if the club do what I think they'll do, a loan player with the possibility of having the attributes of a Borini shouldn't play, even he proves he is worthy because he is on loan , and would replace an established player. You want 4 players brought in, at what position, and who would you drop for that to happen ?
Using the same argument, Ash Williams should never have started for us while on loan, Gomez should never have started for us, Adebayor shouldn't start for Spurs, Tevez shouldn't have started for Man Utd, Sturridge shouldn't have started for Bolton, Almunia shouldn't start for West Ham, Bendtner shouldn't start for Sunderland, Drenthe shouldn't start for Everton, Kyle Naughton shouldn't start for QPR, Jamie O'Hara shouldn't start for Wolves and the list goes on. A loanee is just as much a member of the squad as anyone else, and if they prove to be the best option, they will be used.
some on here don't understand why we bring in a loan player It is certainly not to take the place in any shape or form of a squad member if he is fit FACT...... He is brought in as COVER when we are short through injuries....come on fellows gain some sort of knowledge how things work in football. caulker will be used as and when and not because you think he is better. He will play at some point if one of our Squad players need to be rested or picks up an injury but understand why he came here in the first place,,,,,,,some need to get a bit more understanding about football as some clearly don't have a clue FACT....
Dai clearly you don't understand the concept of loan players, they are brought in because there is a need, and in our position we couldn't afford to take a gamble by paying for someone on a permanent move, we brought in Borini who scored twice for us on his debut, and replaced Moore up front, using your logic that shouldn't have happened, nor should he have played any other games as we own moore but borini was on loan, is that right?
Superswan, you just repeated what you said earlier, but added the word 'fact' in capital letters. That doesn't make your argument any stronger. So, why is it that the list of players I mentioned above were all brought in to play first team football?
caulker was brought in as COVER when we were desperatly short, Say for example brendan cant buy a player he needs in January to strengthen as a permanent player and has to go into the loan market then that is a totally different loan player because he will be coming to take place of someone, caulker is a cover loan player who was not brought in to replace any of our defenders but to fill in until they become fit......he is an asset and good to have and will play for us but as long as the squad players are fit and brendan thinks they are up to the job then caulker will have to wait for his chance... There are loan players and then there are permanant loan players,,,,,try to understand the difference........
jager i have forgotten more about how things work in football than you will ever know....it is you who clearly have no knowledge of how things work.....
Explain how things work then, O knowledgable one. Jager puts a view across and you say he is wrong, I put a view across and you say I am wrong, but you never actually enter into a debate. You just repeat and repeat and repeat. FACT
Sorry Dai the fact is Caulker is number 4 he is the main man when he comes back proves himself Man City - Caulker Wigan - Caulker Sunderland - Caulker Arsenal - Caulker - injured
Forget it lads, it`s like trying to please log in to view this image with Dai. It`s almost like he`s suffering from early-onset Alzheimer`s, no offence meant.
the day anyone on here will know more about football and the workings of football and especially about my beloved swans then i will doth my hat.... one question would caulker be here if we never lost so many defenders when we did?????? i rest my case... he came to us in an emergency and im glad he did....
Loan players are often brought in as cover, they are also very often brought in to have an impact on the team.Caulker was brought in to be a first choice player the only reason we had him on a loan was because we couldnt find anyone at that standard on a permenant basis. Was Borini brought in to back up Beatie and pintado ?? i think not, he was brought in to be first choice and give the team a boost with his qualities
norway... caulker was not even thought of until we lost our defence, it was only then that brendan asked around for a loanee and caulker was offered....at a price.....up until then there was no need for cover......
Dai so what reason do we need four players in January, well according to you? We have no fresh injuries to worry about! And what injuries are you talking about for when Caulker came to our club? I don't believe there were any, he came to the club to be first choice, hence the reason for having the number 4 position. please log in to view this image Please sir! Well said Norway, and you too Jager, Monks best years are behind him, and we can't be carrying any geriatrics, slow is not the word for Monk, does he ever run these days in a game, sorry but as soon as caulker is available he should play and Monk can watch from the bench, time for him to think about a coaching roll at the club, or taking up golf, maybe he'll have better luck with the buggies, than Tate did, though I doubt he'll drive that fast!.................. please log in to view this image
